Furthermore, we cannot make any assumptions based on how well the Imperial Fists would be represented as a unique fighting force. All we know is that bEhaviour added them as a choice in the vote, and that means they have some notion of how to represent them on the field as a force that will bring something new and important to the fight.

We can bolster this point by looking to the fact that bEhaviour did not add Salamanders, because they knew they couldn't do that Chapter justice.

They are aware of these things. If they didn't think they could do the Imperial Fists justice, then they would not have put them in the vote at all.

As Hell Grunt already said, Mark 6 armor is pretty widespread, it is named "Corvus armor" to honor the Raven Guard who helped with the design process, to honor their losses in the dropsite massacre and their determination in rebuilding their chapter after it, they also received the first shipments of this armor before the other loyalist chapters but they got it aswell.

And still it only reduces the thermal immage of the one who wears it and for excample Orcs hunt on sight and the more advanced factions are not only relying on thermal view mode! its like the first predator movie with arnold schwarzenegger all over again, once the predator realized schwarzenegger used a trick to lower his thermal immage he dropped thermal immaging, once eldar players know Raven Guard has this advantage before the battle starts they just switch between view modes.

And how to put this stuff ingame? you cant just give space marines stealth, they would be way to overpowered since it already takes about (correct me if iam wrong) 3 orcs to down a space marine? and that it is hard to put "siege mastery" ingame is not true, just mess abit with the cover parameters of the target and maybe due to the extend use of heavy weapons by the Imperial Fists add some more vehicle damage. (but keep it in scale for balance issues)

That doesnt mean that fortifications will not be present though!Or that the bonus IF will get will be tied to them!In my humble opinion!

  4. I doubt they'll make Orks weaker than other faction counterparts, unless you want to risk losing a decent portion of the player base. Same for Elfdar.

I would not be so sure about this considering that they want to make AL a stealth legion...

I really don't have a clue maybe they implent some sort of damage modifier once more orks band together to simulate the Waaaagh!

They should give Eldar lower armor & HP but give em real stealth (depending on the class) and harder hitting weapons.

But i only read something about the orks so far and the one who posted it had no links or whatsoever, tried to find it again but dunno where i read it :S

And about stealth / camouflage.... found a interesting quote on Lexicanum! :p

The uniforms of the Imperial Guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight.

The principle is that what the enemy cannot see he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine’s armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear…

Ah well, that's why I said 'some notion', haha. At the end of the day the Alpha Legion are a harder force to get right than the Imperial Fists or Raven Guard, because they don't make war directly. The Raven Guard don't make war overtly, but they still make war directly. They still fight. The Alpha Legion still fight, I'm sure, they are Astartes after all, but their unique approach to combat is through manipulation.

So they still have to equate something for the Alpha Legion. 'Some notion' of relativity that links back to their character. But who knows, nothing is final yet.

Well, nice hiperbolisation of my words.First of all, let`s start from Codex Astartes.Any chapter which conducts these book of Guilliman is codexal,it`s obvious. The Codex was enforced on the IF,yeap, but Dorn agrredd absolutely after some meditations. Moreover,IF have become(in accordance with Index Astartes 2) an exemplar of Codex.Yeap, they are closest in Codex-obedience to the Ulramarines. If we for a second imagine that all Codexal chapters has no peculiarity,in general,no lore, no deviations. What could we see?1000 marines absolutely devoted to the Codex Astartes?Reminds something?Yeap,Ultramarines. And one more example of Codex-obbedience,Imperial Fists. But what would happen,if we forget for a second about peculiaritites of Fists?M?
Romantical idea, very romantical and optimistic,as al this game is.Do you remember Miguel Caron and his ideas?Natan has come and cropped a good 3/4 off, cause fans` exitment of Wh40k has a little with real game development process. The most probable way:all-the-same-marines with some specific features of some guns,armours,close-combat weapons and one-two special heroes. Why?Because there is an awful black hole of ideas in the WH40k and only one indie developer(remember the Dark Millenium,a lot of ideas, cool developer and so pity final).I`m not am optimist, yeap(
Well, actually, I didn`t say anything about "better".This chapter is more intersting because of their tactis and decisions on the batllfield, not better. And,yeap,if we get their stealth and hit-and-run away, what would we see?One more Codexal chapter in black armour. That is the point. On the current level of development there are only two colours for loyalists:blue and green.Even red and fenrisian grey armour hasn`t been shown yet.Not even some unique traits, just colours. That`s why today there is no point, which chapter I prefer, they are just painted poligons. However,I like your idea of looking into future(by the way, let`s try to be prophets and look who`s profecy would be closer to reality;)).I see this game a kind of Planetside 1/2 deviation with a cropof WH40k:Space Marine system+smth RPG-like what concerns equipment.

Have you played Planetside 2 for a long time?Especially russian servers?Have you seen a two-three hour fights for one outpost or biolaboratory? It`s a usual skirmish with a wall of fire, grenades, rockets and so on.Sometimes, there no tactics, even your equipment doesn`t matter, because somewhere in the clouds there is a Galaxy or Liberator, which devastates the whole squads,no matter are they heavy or MAXes.In this situatuion of zeitnot only one thing really helpes:diversion of large enough group into the rearward area of the enemy, cutting down connections between provinces, blocking reinforcements, breaking of terminals and so on.Sounds like RG tactics, doesn`t it?Probably,it`s one of my grounds to think that RG would be extremely logical to see in game with their stealth hints.

I agree with your point and not arguing, but why don`t they announced Death Guard among Chaos legions?Increase their HP level thre times, and it would be fair enough? How are they going to justice Alpha legion?Would we have possibility to look like Space Wolves while playing Alpha-legioner?I don`t know, but suppose, that their full mechanics could not be fairly realised, also IMHO.

Absolutely doesn`t,but practice of some other games of kind-alike shows us,that such assimetrical balance grants some fraction too many advantages, which ruin the game.
