Sorry about the long post folks, I kinda got to this thread a little late. Serious stuff is at the top and silly stuff at the bottom. The population is a major concern. Hopefully the devs will figure something out. Later on in the game's life the population will most likely settle down, but during launch it's going to be a little crazy. See, the thing is that's the release of the game. What about when all those ftp's move on to the next game? No doubt some will stay for the fight, maybe some hardcore fans amongst their ranks, but a majority of them will most likely be trying it out because it's free, and quit a month or two later. Same thing happens to a lot of ftp games. Yeah, full of noobz, cuz you know, there are no "truly dedicated and elite fans" amongst da orks or space marines. I might be a little biased, but how could you not find orks fun to play as? Oh well, people have different ideas of fun I suppose. Dat can go to da grots. Or da squigs, whicheva wun. Wot are you talkin about? Dakkagunz CAN dakkadakka yer git! In the words of a great and wise robot-
Who cares about space marines? They are such a overused raced. Being in the minority, I will be going premium ork. When i played the tabletop game there were many rules that orks had that were just.... fun! Take "Red goes' fastur!" rule, which states that ANY VEHICAL PAINTED RED goes 1 inch faster permanetly. Just WHY GAME xD. But yeah, i'm going full melee with one of those custom-made axes orks use, maybe as a stormtrooper. If they have them in the game.
Throw enough Tyranids (and enough of the big ones) at the population problem and it will sort itself out. And if it doesn't, that just leaves me in a target rich environment for my autocannon.
I might just end up sticking with Chaos as my primary faction because the Word Bearers are the biggest assholes ever and I love that.
Just give the Eldar a titan and the Tyranids a Bio-titan and then the Space Marines can put up with that XD
the combined might of the orks and the glorious chaos warriors will break the backs of the poor loyalist scum, whilst the eldar piddle about doing Slaanesh knows what.
I quite liked a very quirky early edition rule that had Ork ranged weapons have the chance to explode and kill the user. I completely understand why they removed it for balancing purposes, but the Ork rules had so much more character than those of other races.
I tried to read your post i really did, but all i could hear in my head was warcaft orc music and the sound of hammers and sawing accompanied by a peon saying "jobs done!"
W-what are you talking about? This is clearly an ork avatar, and definitely not an orc from the sequel of an rts that no one knows about! Now begone, before I set the grun- I mean boyz on you! By the way, peons say "work complete", peasants say "job's done"...
