Here, these pics are from Chaos codices. They are pretty different from the current EC model proportions. However after the last devs' posts I rest much more assured.
That's simply artwork done by various artists GW rips for the cheapest they can get. They're utterly worthless beyond simply being purty pictures in the Codex. This is official art.
Well, in that case it sucks. Especially in comparison to this for example: 'The official art' is as similar to GW miniatures as possible, guess why?
If they would just copy the proportions of the Space Marines in DOW II and Space Marine then it'll be fine. Remember that its alpha footage we are seeing; the models we have already seen are probably just placeholders used as they test out gameplay mechanics and animations. I am sure that by the time release comes about they will be drastically better.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXA_cL-tOjw They wouldn't show something like this if it were a placeholder. Yes it is still WiP(Work in Progress) but definitely not a placeholder(i.e. something that gets thrown away/replaced completely) 40K chess also has the scale down pretty spot on if you ask me (right click open on new tab) You can tell that the DoW2 trailer was a major influence for them.
I think it's all about the shoulder , also the rest of the body looks a little thin full - http://i.imgur.com/Sg9HJwJ.png
There's a bit more to it than just the shoulders, the shoulders in themselves just need upscaling.. However look at the position of the head. In the DOWII model (and Space Marine the game as well) the head is positioned slightly forward on the torso rather than directly atop the body. Ironically this is the exact same mistake made in the Ultramarines movie. This isn't just an illusion caused by the angle of the body as you can tell by looking at the upper line of the chest plate.. On the Dow model the collar opening follows the line of the chest, whereas on the EC model there is a second higher collar within that doesn't follow this line. These models hardly fill me with a sense of confidence. Also look at how much wider the waist on the DOWII model is.. yes it has a grenade belt, but trace the outside edges of the legs up.. The EC model looks like it's wearing flares!
Strictly speaking, the image of the Blood Angel you posted is relatively old. It's still used, but it's still old. The 3d image posted though is great - head is a tad too small methinks, but other then that it looks perfect. DOW 2 knocked it all out of the park.
