You've got your reserve companies in standard Codex chapters as well. Your reserve assault and devastators.
But that is not really 'dedicating to that task' they are to replenish the fighting companies or be used in extreme dire situations as support ^^

The Avenging Foxes are MUCH better now just following probs: #1 - You mention multiple words which belong to them. RARELY any chapter has more than 1 world under their DIRECT protection. Like Ultramarines and the Realm of Ultramar. Most chapters only protect CONSTANTLY 1 world and that is THEIRS. Like for BA it's Ba'al, for Salamanders Nocturne, for Flesh Tearers Cretacia, etc. ; Chapters get called to other planets, but those are not theirs. They go, fulfill their mission, go back home. #2 horus heresy era pattern noughts? Really? I mean I know a few loyalists still have a few, but three? rather make it 1 and put a chapter's legend in there. #3 'some weapons' 'some vehicles' => They got as much as required ; they do not pay for them, they get them allocated by the Adeptus Munitorum I believe. #4 If they get weirdo claw hands and stuff, does that happen upon operation or like the Wulffens rather slow or like the BA with their black rage more like out of nowhere? #5 Fleet?
1 I ll have them protect there chapter homeworld a midevil world. Dont know what to name it though. 2 the claws are simillair to the wulfen they grow out rather slowly mostly 1st company has the longest ones due to there time in service. I Dont know though if they would be usefull for weapons though problably not. 3 I ll get to changing there armory. 4 I can change the pattern dreadought to be a very old hero of the chapter maybe even someone who knows there founding. I ll have it to be just 1 5 I dont know much about space fleets in 40k. so i dont know how organize there fleet.
#5 Then why you no ask me? Here is proposed fleet: 1 Battle Barge 6 Strike Cruisers 15 Frigates Battle Barge is super kick-ass ship and can pretty much contain up to 3 full companies + vehicles to deploy them all + tanks and stuff 1 strike cruiser usually transports 1 company and has also capabilities to run around with their deployment means (thunderhawks, drop-pods, etc.) Frigates are support fire and good for fighting smaller crafts and bombers ; I would give 2 to 3 per mission to a strike cruiser
Alright I put enough of what I think we need into the 'Maulers' if folks wanna take a quick glance over and let me know if it's something we would like to delve into or not.
