Scytella blinked for a moment as he realized what was in front of him. Time slowed down and the marine smashed his arm into the device, sending it spinning towards the other side of the chapel while he jumped and gave the chaplain a shove, putting himself between Tsen'Tal and the bomb.
<Sho'nohak> Watching Brother Scytella in action he lunged forward to grab both him and the Chaplain by their armored collars and yank them back with as much force as he could muster, now wasn't the time for heroic sacrifices!
<Zhu Li'ang> "Got him." Zhu told Sho'nohak as he grabbed Scytella himself and dragging him to the exit.
The device exploded, swallowing the temple itself--leaving a mere molten crater in its wake. Whatever that device had been, and why it was aboard the vessel to begin with, were questions that only the inquisitor could answer. That is, if the Salamanders could find him... As the marines gathered themselves in the aftermath of the explosion, they realised that Brother Soreth had fallen, his armour melted away and even his astartes physiology incapable of surviving such a blast. It appeared that he had died instantly, or near-instantly, and he was beyond the aid of Apothecary Scribe.
((OoC: Arg, hadn't received any notifications for this! Have been waiting patiently for something to show up. )) Chaplain Tsen'Tal rose from the ground, his fury rising as he bore witness not just to the death of a Battle-Brother, but the destruction of a Chapter Shrine. The images, statues, relics, frescoes of the Promethean Cult.. The Inquisitor would be made to answer for this, should he still draw breath. "It appears the Inquisition has much to answer for Brothers, but we must not dwell on our losses. Let us move on and rouse the defense systems." The dark figure was temporarily lit as hit thumb slipped across the activation stud on his Crozius, the mace lighting up his menacing visage.
"He could have fallen to corruption an any Space Hulk withholds, or it may be have someone... Something else. We should not narrow our minds or succumb into hatred. We must stay resilient and trusting toward one another, only together we will survive." Zhu Li'ang reminded the Chaplain. Assuming that he was in fury regards the chapel, so was Zhu, but the fear to succumb into an emotion too strong and corrupt his mind was lurking in his head.
Brother Rahim - Getting off the ground and saying a pray for the Emperor to watch over their fallen Battle-Brother. "I don't think it was corruption from the Space Hulk Brother. The inquisitor brought that on board claiming it was a relic. Unless you believe even the inquisitor was tricked about it's true nature then I am going to agree with the Brother Chaplain." He was unable to save another life, the anger he felt was being pushed on blaming the inquisitor but in reality he blamed himself for his inability to save Brother Soreth. "We should move on and restore power to the ship as Brother-Chaplain Tsen'Tal has said." He moved further down the hall and took point again, stopping away from his Brothers, preferring to remain apart from them so he could think. OOC: back to the road, I'll check again when I can.
"Just a moment brothers before we continue brothers" Scribe walked across the remains of the room, he was still patrolling around the edge of the room when the blast went of and was thus untouched. Kneeling besides the charred body of his comrade he attended his duty as an apothecary. "May you sit at the emperors side, may you be the progenitor of great warriors so you may still serve in death." Scribe took the rare opportunity of holding proper rites for a fallen battle brother, something that does not happen too often in the battlefield of astartes. All the while his auto-quill sketched the picture of Soreth in his tome so that he'd be never forgotten. Having stored the geneseed in a sealed container Scribe rose and turned around. "Let's not dwell brothers. We have to take action!"
"Thank you brother, I am in your debt. To the forge then?", Scytella asked quietly, this had only gone from bad to worse. There will be a reckoning with this inquisitor, and should he be found wanting...
"Debt has no space here. I simply had to act and did as my duty commanded." Zhu replied, providing silent prayers and thoughts to their lost brother.
