"Send the filth to whence they came brothers! My armour is contempt, my shield is disgust, hate is my sword, in the Emperor's name let none survive!" As he chanted the litany of hate Scytella moved up close to Sho' nohak and supported him directly with his bolter, making sure that his battle-brother would not overwhelmed. He rammed another clip into his bolter and contiued firing, how much ammo had he left?

He had used much this day and never resupplied, was this his last? But the marine pushed aside that dark thought and devouted himself to the fires of war once more, he would cross that bridge when he came to it.
  3. Scribe felt a satisfying shudder through his arm as yet another vile daemon went limp hoisted in the air on the end of his combat blade. Leaning into his motion he threw the corpse into a group of charging bloodletters, slowing them by but a second. It was enough to bring up his bolt gun again and depress the trigger for a punishing full auto salvo from a few feet away. Quickly checking the lifesigns feed of his brothers the apothecarion assured himself that none of his brothers were in need of his attention yet. And indeed neither them nor those few but iron willed mortals required his medical skills. Planning to save a few magazines for his bolter Scribe switched to his sidearm and combat knife, though almost out of rounds for the bolt pistol, it made a splendid instrument to cave in skulls.

Another Bolter blasted with life as shots flew past Scytella and Sho'nohak. "With fire in our eyes and valor in our hearts. We shall withstand any assault!" Zhu Li'ang hissed at the daemonic brutes.

It would be a tough and long fight and could mean death to all of them, but no fear was that settled in the mind of this Salamander, it was rather the fury and hatred, based on the incapability of guaranteeing the survival of those around him that fought as vigorously as himself.

Each of the brothers and armsmen, even the Inquisitor he did not know, were all citizens of the Imperium and children of the Emperor. Therefor they earned his protection. "Controlled fire, Scytella! Remember our simulated fight against the Ork Hordes! Aim for their heads!"

    Brother Rahim -
Unloading a mag from his bolter into a rushing bloodletter's chest "There is only the Emperor, and he is our shield and protector." He immediately switchs to his bolt pistol and takes two rapid shots to the next howling bloodletter's face. "You carry the Emperor's will as your torch, with it destroy the shadows."

He finds a moment to mag lock his bolt pistol to his hip and quickly reload his bolter. Between bursts of fire "Brother-Sergeant how long until we jump out of the warp? Or will we have the honor of fighting a centuries worth of battles from this brig?"

He eyed the quickly depleting ammunition of himself and his Battle-Brothers, knowing full well that if something didn't change soon they would be fighting with nothing save their combat knifes. He hurled one of his frag grenades through the destroyed blast doors hoping to thin out atleast some of the bloodletters to give his Battle-Brothers some respite, no matter how brief.

    Mission Four

A New Day, A New Problem

With the Orison of Nocturne's gellar field failed, foul daemons of Chaos overran the mighty Salamander vessel. The members of second squad, along with what few survivors remained of the ship's human crew, ultimately resolved themselves to a last stand in the ship's brig.

The Salamanders fought valiantly, but for every one of the monstrous Chaos daemons the marines killed, two more took its place. Flesh hounds of Khorne joined the fray, attacking alongside the Bloodletters. The Salamanders held as best they could, but the horde was too intense, too thick, too many.

The hordes broke through, in to the brig. Several of the human crew killed themselves, rather than face the horrors of the warp. But the Salamanders stood strong.

As the daemon attack crescendoed toward its inevitable finale, the marines were plunged in to darkness--the engines having given out.

''Fight where you stand, slay them all!'' Threlvar screamed, even as the Bloodletters piled in around him, shoulder-to-shoulder with the humans and the marines. He swung his chainsword, killing as many as he could. Meanwhile his brethren fought with equal vigour, hacking and blasting at the enemy.

But it was not enough. Still the daemons came.

The Salamanders bordered damnation--resigned to their fate as having been lost to the warp--when there was a massive thud. The Salamanders were simultaneously thrown forward, in to the daemon horde, and--despite their superhuman capability--the impact rendered them unconscious.

Waking up, the marines found themselves alone in the brig, shrouded in pitch black darkness. The marine's helmets allowed them partial vision even where there was no light. From what they could tell, the brig was painted crimson. Whatever the impact had been, it had looked like it had killed the humans in the brig. More curiously, it appeared that the daemons had also disappeared.

The Salamanders looked to their sergeant for leadership, but Threlvar was nowhere to be seen. Vox communication attempts with him failed. Upon closer inspection, even in the pitch black dark, the marines could see that the brig's thick, metal walls had been ruptured.

Mission Four Briefing: Investigate what happened to the ship. You should also endeavour to locate Sergeant Threlvar, who was not with you when you awoke.

Notes: The survivors may choose to install a new squad leader until the sergeant can be located.
The ship is currently pitch black and eerily silent--there is not the usual droning sound of the ship's engines.
From what the marines can see there appear to be no human survivors.
From what the marines could make out, it appeared that the inquisitor may not have been among the dead. His whereabouts are unknown.
You may move about the ship as you see fit.

As an aside, I'll be lumbering some of you with problems of your own. This may be a cracked part of your armour, a lost weapon, a broken helmet, a wound or whatever else takes my fancy.

Zhu Li'ang rubbed his head, just to notice his helmet is still in place, shaking of the concussion, standing up slowly, falling first back to a knee and then standing actually up. Like a reflex a new Bolter clip was inserted into his gun - the second last one.

"All survivors... Call in... Scream if you are dead..." The Tactical Astartes said through his Vox-Caster as he helped Scytella up, spotting him nearby.

    <Sho'nohak>
The Salamander awoke to a groggy haze but it quickly cleared away as mere force of will and the might of his bio-engineered body did away with such frailties. "Brother Sho'nohak reporting. " It came out rather quiet as they were all nearby. Immediately he started to move amongst the other, chainsword still locked in his hand thanks to the custom finger encasing grip he had crafted. His bolt pistol was lost somewhere out there but for now that didn't matter as he first checked in on their Devastators whom might be having a rough go with their heavy weapons.

On hands and knees he attempted to shake the cobwebs free from his mind. It must have been a horrible impact indeed to knock even an Astartes unconscious. He slowly got to his feet trying to take in his darkened surroundings. "Brothers are you all alright? Where has the Brother-Sergeant and the Inquisitor gone off to? Brother-Apothocarian would you mind terribly shining some light on the area?" He examined the area seeing no signs of the human crew unless the new crimson color of the walls was them.

"We should head for the armory first Brothers, I am in desperate need of ammunition, as well as the rest of us I assume. Who is next in charge? Is it you Brother-Chaplain? Might I suggest we check the engines and bridge after the armoury. Hopefully we can restore power and find our missing Brethren.

There was no response to the call. At least, nothing spoken. The vox caster did, however, pick up a strange signal. It was faint, barely more than static, but there was something more to it than random noise.
