No prob, I try to clarify it: I used the finger only in connection with the Imperium. Please view my posts. The part about the Emperor was that I don´t understand how people can actually believe that SDs were true to Big E according to their deeds I described. I know SDs claimed they are and many of you obviously agree with that but I just have a hard time with it. Again, please bear in my mind that my argument was built upon, as already stated, the first novel only. I´m sure there is more in the second and third novel to support my argument, but no way I´ll read that again. If you say that the other novels make that more clear, then I can´t argue against that because I have only read the first three of them. But somehow, I seriously doubt that...
ah i see the edit. thanks for clarifying that. and as u assumed their motives and dedication become clearer in the 2nd-4th books. they even surrender themselves to their progenitor chapter because they refuse to keep fighting other SMs. and in the end they fight side by side with the imperial fist to defeat a chaos plot. by the 3rd book there is no doubting that they are carrying out what the emperor would actually want. they go around defending citizens that the Empire has forsaken. and stop a new chaos god from being born. even the inquisitor sent after them begins to see that they arent true renegades.
just to throw the wiki out there "The Soul Drinkers were a Renegade Chapter of Space Marines declared Excommunicate Traitoris by the Inquisition because of their extremely high levels of mutation and obvious corruption by Chaos, yet the Soul Drinkers still considered themselves to be loyal to the Emperor of Mankind, if not to His Imperium. The Soul Drinkers were a Second Founding Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists Legion. The Soul Drinkers were ultimately destroyed as a Chapter in the late 41st Millennium when they worked with the Imperial Fists to end a Chaotic plot initiated by one of their own number, the VenerableDreadnought Daenyathos, to seize control of the Imperial Fists' mobile fortress-monastery, the Phalanx, and spread the power of Chaos across the galaxy. Though the Chapter has ceased to exist, the Imperial Fists honour its Astartes' final sacrifice in the defence of Mankind."
Don't quote anything from the 40K wiki. It's a pile of unsourced, uncited shit and filled with fanon all over the damn place. It's evidence of absolutely nothing given the impossibility of knowing if anything the 40K wiki states is true given it being uncited. Even the Lexicanum, which is far superior than the 40K Wiki and purges all fanon, still isn't reliable as it's filled with ancient fluff and by its nature, is still a wiki. Even if it's a good wiki, it's still not a source.
Crusaders we can understand that this thread is causing a great pain , but please be careful in what you are talking about , do not let Tzeentch take your minds over , like he did with Souldrinkers , or you will be banished to the warp , like those cursed souls . Be vigilant !
The Soul Drinkers were NOT a second founding chapter of the Imperial Fists!!!!!! While it should be easy to tell from the very beginning, they make it explicit in the final book. Like I said before, I thought the Soul Drinkers were pretty ignorant. Having said that, Ben Counter's other books are excellent.
And people wonder why I pretty much facepalm at 90% of Spech Mehrheen fanbois. Tell me again how you feel about the Soul Drinkers. I didn't get it the first 3 or 4 times you mentioned it.
i understand what youre saying. but have you read the books? the wiki is pretty accurate. of course it is cast in a favorable light, but the events described "happened". not to sound course but i think most of us know that everything should be taken with a grain of salt. i was simply trying to point the "SDs for dummies" out to those that hadnt read the series.
