Balance at this point is silly. Sorc's existing mechanics are good, except perhaps for his beam that makes targets more vulnerable. That is to say, the numbers associated with the mechanics can be tweaked and work well. What needs to be done now is for balancing concerns to be ignored while other mechanics are added into the game. I'm glad we have metrics, they're useful later down the line, but with Sorcerer about 1/2 done, (and I'd hope closer to 1/6th done) and melee being a work in progress, the sorcerer, who uses both the unfinished psychic powers and melee, feels especially half baked. But we're in beta, its supposed to. Once Eldar get in, and Warlocks are being added, Sorcerers will naturally get much needed attention. Keep the pressure up for them to add mechanics, but balancing particular numbers should be a minor thing until we're on the newest engine, have finished graphics, and have more than 50% of the factions in game. So I repeat, keep the pressure to add new content up, don't worry about balancing until Orks are in. (any existing balance we set up now will be inevitably smashed by implementation of new mechanics, but sure, a rough, +/- 50% power equivalence can be set up for map-gameplay testing, and it already is.)
