Considering all the bugs that exist in the class atm i would be surprised if it would be ready by lauch.
While I don't think the Scorc is quite the worst class in the game, the last thing I would call it would be OP. Far from useless, but mundane? Underwhelming maybe? Aye. There are times when the planets align it seems and you just rollstomp people. Lag? I can not fathom what else it could be. I have seen people have me dead to rights and run right by? How do you not see me? I have a glowing sword and shooting glowing purple sh!t out of my hand? This^^ I like the way you think my chaos kin. Dude has some bugs, there is no doubt about that. The non healing heal beam might be lag as well though. Sometimes I notice when the beam does move the health bar, it still seems to give me heal XP. Then when I stop the beam and restart, the dude instantly heals. The targeting sucks though. It makes me want to punch babies sometimes.
And to think, they haven't even added Perils of the Warp yet. I find it hard to believe that people think that the Sorcerer is OP, the stats (and basically everyone's personal experience) is completely to the contrary. Healing at range may be situationally useful, but the tradeoff is it's slow and shows the enemy right where you are. Meanwhile the Apothecary may have to go right up to the person but it's nearly instantaneous revive, and if they're even mildly intelligent they'd just let the wounded crawl to them in cover or just plain let them die if it's too dangerous. Even as a Healbot it lacks objective advantages. And Biomancy is an option not the primary role of a Sorcerer, Aspiring or otherwise.
tonight i hopped on with a clan-mate. he was downed by two tacticals and i lobbed a grenade into them ( downing them) and in the span it took me run ten feet and start the revive process, an apoth came in and revived his buddies. we got mowed down by a trio of bolters.
It would be interesting to do a comparison of how many teammates that an Apothecary could revive in the time it would take a Sorcerer to revive a single teammate. Let's presume the downed Chaos player is at half their Bleedout. 3? 5? Assuming they're all an extremely short distance from eachother. Of course to be fair, they are planning on increasing the Heal rate for Sorcerer. which isn't that comforting for those of us that were never interested in the Sorcerer being a dedicated healer...
Yeah what's up with that? Why is the sorcerer the healer, last I checked there wasn't much for healing anything going on chaos side, I would say he would be more useful right now throwing bolts of change stuff at people. Anyone trying to say that the apoth doesn't have an instant melee-ranged revive/heal has EITHER never played the class before, or has no idea what they're talking about.
Seems never having played it, goes for you. reviving, like healing, starts the same "aplying item" timer so its not instant.
You mean that thing that takes 2 seconds to apply? Compared to the 8-12 seconds it takes the apoth yeah that qualifies as instant.
You forget that most times you have to walk/run to your target aswell .Perhaps even cleave a couple of downed enemys so that you will not start an execution instead of a revive, etc etc.
