Sorcerer so bad....

    I honestly think I've had enough of 'data'. Got my fill of that crap in Planetside 2.

    "THIS DATA HERE CLEARLY SHOWS THIS GUN IS OVERPOWERED! NERF THE LIB"
    "THIS FACTION'S MAX IS BETTER THAN THE OTHERS ACCORDING TO THESE GRAPHS. NERF IT NOW"
    "THIS CHART SAYS THE CARV IS SHIT. BUFF THE CARV"

    A lot of this information can be gained from just playing the game. Go into a match or two and tell me how many Sorcerers you see, and then tell me how many you see effectively healing and debuffing the enemy. Then go to the Loyalist side and tell me how many Apocs are running around, stabbing needles into everything bleeding its treacherous life away.

    Yeah the metrics are pretty telling, at least for the Sorcerer anyways.

    To be fair its no wonder its like that, i was pretty confident id see something like that. Besides being the bottom of the barrel class atm its also the class that literally has the most bugs compared to every other class in the game, bugs that still span as far back as the first day of the Alpha mind you and still arent addressed. And they are just piling up with new ones emerging each patch, without the older ones being addressed. My personal faves are the one where any ally walking through your debuff beams breaks them and the healing beam that literally refuses to heal 20 times in one match (a little help tip for those who get this crap bug, swap to bolt pistol, fire off a shot or two and swap to the healing beam again). Honorary mention to the erectile dysfunction beams that now go through the ground instead of in a straight line, which i have christened as "droopy noodles".

    So even if at one point there were more Sorc players im sure allot simply stopped playing the class when they saw that none of the bugs were addressed for ages, and still arent addressed. Those left playing the class are those crazy diehards (like myself) who just sit from patch to patch hoping for bugfixes. Hopefully we wont wait too long for stuff to get added to the class and the bugs to be fixed (we already waited for ages), cause with the current state of the support class im not seeing what kind of value their metrics have.

    How can you get good metrics for the factions when one has a support class that is a hive of bugs that a Tyranid Hive Ship would envy? Honestly when the bugs get fixed im predicting allot of complaints about the Sorcerer, cause many people probably took his current state for the default one, and when he gets fixed and actually WORKS it will probably feel like they are OP to all the people who are already used to seeing a Sorc and just thinking to themselves "ah, a free kill". The more they delay bugfixes and gear/mechanics additions to this support class the more chances there are that we will see the "MoN is OP" get exchanged by "Sorc is OP" as the hot topic for numerous threads.

  3. Do not forget the Force Sword! The deadly weapon of "cannot-even-clang-properly" with a Weapon durability of a combat knive, not stopping a charge attack like it should considering the rock-paper-scissor system the devs want. I mean, it's a FORCE sword, at least it should be on pair with the powersword!

    Also, the D-Bash does not work properly for Sorcerer (No, its not just lag, because i played melee characters and it worked with them)
    Or the 2 Rolls they have, instead of the 3 all melee classes should have.
    Or the lack of the blue-around-your-head buff all melee classes have that mitigates damage once in combat, but the sorcerer does not have
    Or the life-leach, each melee character has, but the sorcerer. It was once stated melee just needs this to work properly.

    I mean, if you force me to be a melee character, also give me melee mechanics! Sorcerer still does not have the assets JPA's, MoN's or shieldbro's have. But we got even less!

    Combine this with the time consuming heal and the lack of spells (Sorcerer without sorcery is heresy! And what we have... well... lets not talk about it) and we got a class of nothing

    But i agree. Once this all gets fixed, the Sorc will feel really overpowered, combined with cool and usefull spells i can allready hear the nerf-crys from the depths of the warp... :D

    The reason why I refuse to play as a sorc for now. I can handle with other bugs but healing beam failure terribly annoying that you cant catch your patient to heal.

    And when you do lock on, its like a dice roll if the thing decides it wants to heal or not.

    No. The force sword is currently a bottom-tier weapon for clangs, has bugs, and loses durability in one or two hits to COMBAT KNIVES. It is not currently "close enough" to anything but a steaming turd in your hand, and only half as effective.
    Khornate warriors do not trust/tolerate sorcery/warp powers unless it's in a Chaos Undivided group. A sorceror with a Mark of Khorne would be ripped apart by his allies.

    No, you missunderstand!

    the gods only gift the worthy! You cant heal someone with a K/D ratio below 1:1

    j/k yeah sorc seems stronger than apot on paper, because of his ranged heal, but sadly it stays on paper

    the sorcerer can easily top the score chart, is simple and not impossible.

    the result is generally that: 0 kill 8 death and 10k of healing points.

    the sorcerer is a stance/dancer class that have no bonus for swapping stance.

    and the result is: can pnly have good performance in complete focus on the healing stance, because offensive powers and pistol/sword stance are not competitive.

    of course you can use the greeen beam: but why? i can change class and do more damage.

    i can use the force sword: but why? i take a traitor assault and i can do better.


    instead give some something that make me more powerfull if i swap
    class!

    i used my green beam? now if i swap to healing or use my sword they are better. (the sword become charged with poison?)

    i use the healbeam? now my green beam and sword work better.

    the sorcerer need a reason for use something different than the healing.

    but at the same time the poison can't be at the same level of a bolter and the force sword can't be like a raptor weapon.

    need something unique.

    Maybe but all of this the Apot can do better,

    no need to put your ranged weapon away, or go for a weapon swap to change between heal and dmg,

    or even switch your loadout to debuff...

    Smart cast and both powers would be interesting, like:

    Have Stream "equipped"

    aim at friend: Heal

    aim at enemy: Poison

    aim at nothing: Heal self

    your second wep slot would be:

    friend: buff dmg

    foe: debuff dmg resist or supress or anything

    *edit* aim at self: Turn into Lord of Change and go WTFISWRONGHERE? On the LSM

    I play the scorc exclusively and the he is not THAT bad. Obviously I die a lot because every time I support my team, I am putting the BIGGEST F'N target on my back for 20 minutes while I stand there and heal one MoN. Everyone knows exactly where you are all of the time so you are the biggest juiciest target on the battlefield.

    My main gripe with the Sorc is the delay when you use heal. It's hard enough to target people with the heal beam and having this 1-2 second wind up delay is awful. We REALLY need instant feedback to tell us who the hell we are healing. That right there would help a lot.

    Dat heal speed tho:
    I know we have a ranged heal advantage, but have you ever tried to heal a MoN? Maybe boost the heal speed the closer you are to the target? That way you do have some benefit of ranged heal, but if we need to heal people in a hurry we need to be standing next to them? I mean, sometimes I feel like the lone worker behind the counter at subway. Most of the time you can do your job, but during rush hour I have a line of customers wrapped around the capture point. When I play Apoth, I do not have this problem. Tho's Insta heals bruh.

    As someone stated before, it would be nice if the force sword did not break every clang. I would expect power weapons to break it quick, but tac knives consistently breaking your sword is kind of disappointing. Sometimes I think I would be better of with a knife anyway as the glowing force sword is another targeting beacon for the enemy. Maybe give us the option to take a chain axe or a power sword for a few more points? Chain Axe please! :D

    That said, it's just a support class that does it's job and gets none of the glory. And you now what, I am fine with that. Every match is different of course, but most of the time I score somewhere near the top. A lot of times with no kills, but thats ok. I pride myself on keeping my team fighting.
