Soooo, why did we need an Apothecary buff again?

    Because they were crap and couldn't hold their own with any decent player at any range. Less armor + less damage = not fun.

    Im pretty sure it has something to do with new itemisation system, because now its only one object and weapon - boltgun, instead of two - boltgun and apo boltgun (also as a sanguinary priest i feel offended when someone thinks my boltgun could use some more servicing, because its always shine and perfectly maintained :) )

    Also after reading the thread:
    Bolters are useless because they were basically nerfed with new hitboxes and MoN bolter damage mitigation (or plasmagun extra damage, whatever). They werent any good before compared to plasma, but now totally useless, so Apoth have very limited firepower until things are balanced out.
    AS on the other hand is just too weak... like they are on lower end of their progression and Apoth are on the top. Lack of good ranged weapon, as well as force sword = knife adds to frustration, and small amount of healing is not enough to keep up with assault. Sooo AS buff is in order? or balance? or something else entirely like shitload of warp powers (i wouldnt mind AS being offensive class with minor ability to heal, that would req even more tactis and teamwork from SM, and thats what SM are famous for, though only warparties could provide that)

    Most enemies die in 1 hit from a Power Swing not just Apoths and Sorcs. especially with an Axe. in your video the Apoth was out of position and should have been with his battle brothers, you showed him the error in his ways. well done brother.

    Apothecary gets insta heals, with a hot as well, and a bolter and chainsword. Combat ability on par with that of a normal tactical marine, even surpassing them if you count heal shenanigans.

    Sorcerer gets the long heal and pickup timer, a crappy grape drink sword, and a green snot beam that is next to worthless for ranged damage. Combat ability is on par with a tactical using only a knife, perhaps a little less even.

    Just confirmed something with @Grigdusher and a few other gents today on the Founder server.

    So we know that the Apo heal completely invalidates the Stream of Corruptions poison (that you need to accumulate for 6 or more secs to dangerous levels) with just one injection right? Heres the kicker, the heal over time (that lasts after the heal for like 7-8 seconds) makes the ally injected with it (or yourself in you are an Apo) completely immune to poison. So not only do you get healed you also completely deny the Sorcerer the ability to poison you for the next 8 seconds.

    Yeah... maybe not as related to the topic but just putting it out there how the Sorc currently is and yet he isnt getting a buff...
  7. What do you mean by "Again" OP? As in buff the Apothecary... again? The Apothecary lost their Chainsword a few months ago and finally got it back, so I'm wondering what you mean by "buffing the Apothecary again"?


    Lets get the Sorc up to snuff instead of knee jerk calls to nerf the Apothecary. Let's get supports up to snuff and see them as the venerable units they are in the 40K universe. Calling for a nerf for the Apothecary is calling for the Sorc to remain menial. Lets get the Sorc abilities and overall effectiveness UP to par instead of nerfing the Apothecary DOWN to the Sorc.

    All supports should have same health/armor/toughness as all other classes. The survival nerf for supports is BS.

    The Sorc ranged heal is painfully slow and for quite some time now has needed a bit of a buff. The Force sword is a joke because it's supposed to work in conjunction with the Psykers psychic powers, so I would have imagined some sort of weapons buff options where you can cast a curse on your weapon to do X(DoT, Blind, Stagger without the stun.. shaky screen) to your opponents.

    The Sorc and Apothecary should be feared by any opponent and not just considered menial, fodder as they are for the most part right now. So unless there's something that's obviously broken and incredibly, blatantly overpowered, A call to nerf either is a call to nerf both, so be careful what you wish for OP.

    Yeah, that's been the case for awhile. I first noticed that when the melta was introduced, the apothecaries hot would render them completely immune to the heat debuff as well.

    I recall it for the Melta, was never sure about the Stream cause its generally riddled with bugs which is why i went on to test it on FS. Why they fixed this bug for the Melta and not for the poison is beyond me.

    It was meant to be read differently. As in "Can you explain me again why did we need to buff an Apothecary?"
