reading the nightlord omnibus. first scene is like the opening of 300. NL recruit childrens. and they are gifted immortal astarte bodies while their are still teenages. so that means NL all looks very young compare to other marines who are recruited in their adulthood?
I'm not sure their looks have anything to do with the time they are taken. But I must admit I never thought about it, since I missed this fact in the NL books (thx for bringing this up!). However, aren't Marines always gifted with the (some) implants while they are like 12? Or was that 16? Hmm, I admit I forgot this part of the lore lol.
No marines are recruited in their adulthood ( exception might exist but they are rare) . SpaceWolves are the one recruiting late but they still pick up teens.
Personally I always depicted NL as vampire looking (not the sparkling type, those are blood angels.) with their creapy pale near corps like skin , jet black hair....don't like the sunlight that much...
oh just look up the Lexicaum. youre right. marines are recruited at age 10. which is weird that i keep hearing marines are recruits of great warriors. i guess this is because of spacewolves and world eaters...
Correct 10-12 is the good average. Most of them comes from feral world where you are a man the day you stop suckling. Now the trial they usually do in order to be chosen is not small deal and I guess it earn them the title of great warrior. NL just replaced that title by " surviving unwanted street urchin with psychopathic tendency".
