I'd love to see a novel from the perspective of other captains in the Eight. Perhaps even Krieg Acerbus. I disliked him at first, but to be honest - it would be quite entertaining to see what his ascension was like.
Okay, so here's a question for you, my brothers. Does everyone here understand how to conduct an ambush? The difference between an L shape and an I shape ambush? And where to place explosives/weapons placement in both instances? I suspect the game world will be similar to Planetside 2, in terms of how they do sector control and planetary design, so there will likely be roads that will be the best way to travel. This of course means that there will be predictable paths of movement for us to attack and prey upon. I'd be more than will to explain to anyone who's curious.
Of course we understand how to conduct an ambush. You send in your flashiest brother, generally the one with the bat helm and bling bling or even better the expendable red gauntlets one or if you want to be a real coward you can always nail a serf from the lowest deck in place...then you send in the raptor. LADS, LOOK WHAT I HAVE FOUND Bigger version here http://ukitakumuki.deviantart.com/art/40K-Heavy-Raptor-Concept-465095750 First off. In the name of the false Throne... YES. Also, PROPER arched jumppacks and talon'd feet, YES. Gods, how I resent the new Raptors. THIS, this here by Ukitakumuki, is a proper Raptor.
To be honest, that is how I want Raptors to look. Or at least, MY Raptor. I want the old talon feet (proper talons! Not spikes added to my ceramite boots) and the properly arched intakes on the jump pack, as well as the old Raptor helms too. I asked Ghislain (art director) way back in November if we could achieve the 4th/5th edition Raptor look, and got this: I've been trying to find out details of this for ages - but no word. Seeing as you're the art lead, I figured I'd ask you personally. Is there any word concerning the old style of Raptors? The 4th edition ones, with the 'sloped'/arched jump pack and talons instead of feet? Would that look be achievable in-game? I realize that not everyone is a fan of this look, but not everyone is a fan of the new Raptors either. Will you be exploring the old art direction with the talon'd feet and sloped jump-pack as an option for Raptors? Thanks Ghislain! his response: The first customisation assets we'll make available will be based on the 6th Edition material as we want to make available in the game what is available on the miniature market first, but we'll add more customisation opportunities on a regular basis post-laucnh later - the choice of such items will be influenced by popular demand. So messages like yours are quite useful to help us find our what will work best. Cheers!
A fellow Raptor in all it's glory, unlike the new raptor that are carrying beer kegs around... *sigh* I miss the old days. Ave Dominus Nox!
Awww this is viciously cute. I just feel like patting "it" on the head and playing fetch. I always seen raptors more like feral creatures...regressed to near beast status. In the Talos trilogy they walk on all 4 fours and they walk on walls/ceilings, close to freaking Aliens...and I wouldn't mind that at all, its gracefully sinister and take them a few more steps beyond humanity. If we can get similar designs and serfs for our space quarters, I'd be quite happy ...and a home sweet home door mat.
