You could argue that the Exalted and Uzas had willingly gave themselves to Chaos (moreso in the case of the Exalted, Uzas seems to have more stumbled into it), whereas the Raptors are dedicated only to themselves, but warped by the exposure to Chaos in the Eye / Warp / wherever.
Yeah - though the Exalted -was- still amazing. I loved reading about him in action. One of my favourite Night Lords, despite his weakness.
I personally think that Zso Sahaal should be allowed to unite the legion once more. He has the Corona Nox to prove it to. The only thing keeping him, is Abaddon (*sarcastic* the great master of tactics) and that daemon prince that's being a real dick about it.
That's if the majority wants to be reunited. Right now, I think his/the Legion's best chances is Decimus.
This seems like a very small thing but I would like absolutely no requirement to have any kind of Chaos iconography on my armour. Even after unlocking all of the pieces in Space Marine I could not free myself from the pointy star (metaphor?). I'm even willing to take a gameplay disadvantages if it means that I can be a legionary instead of a chaos space marine. Give me same plain Mark V armour and a chainsword and I'm good! I know that Krieg Acerbus exists (not a fan the raptor heavy short story) but surely ADB's Night Lords are the new canon. I really hope that we don't just get raptor spam with massive bat wings.
Excellent thought and there is precedent for traitor legions to be united (Black Legion and Word Bearers) but I love the Night Lords because they're broken and tragic. "Its only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything." (Pretty sure Tyler Durden was a Night Lord) "F salvation, F redemption. If we are God's (The Emperor's) unwanted children so be it!" Yep, definitely a Night Lord... One of the coolest things about them is that they hate each other and themselves but they carry because... well because its them against the world! They become kinda like everyone else but with bat wings if they are united and all brotherly.
