Some Of My Ideas For Some In My Opinion Nice Adds For The Space Marines In Game (^_^)

Discussion in 'Space Marines' started by Soulbreath, Jan 17, 2015.

  1. Here's a list of my ideas (..ah yeah; beware to read a looot of the word "special"): :D

    Space Marines:

-Ultramarines (aka as "Ultrasmurfes", "Matt Ward Marines" or "Space Romans/ Greeks) are well known for their ingenious sense of tactic and flexibility. Add following abilities to the leaders such as: Seargent, Captain and Commander etc. The special ability could be chance for a boost of resources, support and reinforcements (But just one of them per use, because it might be overpowered). I would name it: "Tactical Sense" or "Doctrine of the great Guilliman". Add a killstreak like a "little resources, support or reinforcements boost bonus" for non-leader squadmembers, which gives the leader of choice a higher chance to get "Tactical Sense" or "Doctrine of the great Guilliman".

Unique/ exclusive equipment: Some kind of a shortsword. Inspired by the shortswords of the ancient Greeks and the famous Roman gladius. This sort of sword might seem like a useless toy, but in point of fact you can strike insanley fast with this weapon. Based on it's lighter, shorter and compact design you can pull it out of your sheath, swing and stab faster, than many other sort of swords. :D

A good choice for the Elite/ Hero Class could be the well known "Tyranid Hunter", the "Ordo Xenos" aka "Deathwatch" (aka "Bug Spray"). Their SA* (special abilites) could be a damage bonus against non-human races/ "xenos", especially against tyranids. Add a "mass damage bonus", because if sh*t's just got real Bro/ Sis, the Tyranids will unleash their countless swarms. I believe if the battlefield becomes confusing and overrun by countless Nids, you wish nothing more then "mass damage bonus". Add unique equipment like: "Hellfire"-ammunition/ rounds, "Hellfire"-grenades and poisoned combat-knives. Aaah and about the Deathwatch: As you might know, NOT ONLY member of ONE chapter are allowed to join the Deathwatch. It is known, that also "ex-members" of other chapters were seen in the Deathwatch and not only "ex-ultras". o_O

-Blood Angels (aka "Winged Mad Reds", "Result of sex between angle and vampire" or "Space Vampires") are well known for their red thirst, black rage and their urge for meele. SA* The red thirst could be a health, speed, reflexes and damage... "beserk boost" which raises more and more if you have an ongoing "killstreak" in a limited short time with extra bleeding damage effect... well they became literally short-time draculas o_O. Or if they take damage a "provoke=revenge" action, because I think they're also well known for getting easily provoked which could be a... speed boost (just would be overpowered to add health and damage boost for a simple provocation) , BUT add a insane WITH damage and health and not only speed "provoke=revenge" boost to their chaplains (inspired by Lemartes :D). If a Blood Angel is about to die, their black rage might be unleashed so they can take some enemies with 'em to death... but only a low chance of unleashing the black rage, because it might also be overpowered. The "Black Rage" ability is only a 10% or less chance, BUT if, it gives you an insane damage/ speed boost and temporary invulnerability for about... 1-2 minutes? and the armour suddenly turns into those from the Death Company (just for fun and a nice fitting look) and you could add an exclusive Blood Angel special just for fun and this would be: If the limited time of the "Black Range" has been reached, Astorath the Grim will break through the clouds in the sky, comes rushing down and decapitate the afflicted one to redeem from the Black Rage  So yeah... really Meele-Beasts at it's finest. BUT consider only to have a low chance of these abilites, because it might be pretty overpowered and unfair ...hmmm what else... aah yeah: "Ruler of the sky" give 'em an bonus of precision for air support/ transport and jump pack landing approach.

Unique/ exclusive equipment: Infernus Pistol, Lucifer pattern engine (Blood Angels have faster tanks than other chapters), Baal-Predator.

Exclusive Elite/ Hero classes: Honour Guard and Sanguinary Guard (Sanguinary Guard members should also have access to unique weapons like the Glaives Encermine<= sounds fitting to me if they are able to cause insane bleeding damage... I mean Blood Angels ans BLOOD o_O and Angelus Bolters with their specail ammunition ) ...*** :eek:FURIOSO DREADS ***

-Dark Angels (aka "Still? Why so serious, there are better things to do.") are well known for their tireless zeal and their fanatic search for expiatory. SA* could be "Tireless Zeal" so if they are dying, they might continue fighting for...1-2 mins? What also would be awseome an ability called "Expiatory Penalty" with which you can immobilise your enemy for a few seconds. With "Seek for Revenge" you have a (short-time) insanely damage bonus against an enemy who slayed one of your Brothers, BUT ONLY if this happens in your field of view... like only if you saw him doing this. "Plasma-Expert" oooh yes, you Dark Angels love this nice shiny Plasma don't you? :p "Plasma-Expert" gives them the ability to shoot any sort of Plasma weapon faster, more precisely than any other chapter and still with a very low risk of overheating.

Unique/ exclusive equipment: *Quote from the Lexicnaum: "The Heavenfall Blades are master-crafted power swords wielded by the highest-ranked members of the Dark Angels Chapter. The weapons were crafted using a single block of jet-black obsidian; according to Chapter lore, the block had formed the core of a meteorite that struck the Rock, the Dark Angels' mobile Fortress-Monastery, in orbit around the feral worlds of Al Baradad."* ...obsidian is damn sharp and gives the blade a nice dark and mysterious look, just like the Dark Angels are. :cool:Mysterious with a dark pursuing past... and some kind of "thurible"-morningstar and "thurible"-Mace.

Exclusive Elite/ Hero classes: The famous Deathwing of course :D and Interrogator-Chaplains.

-Last but not least, The Space Wolves (aka "Space Puppies", "Happy Hairy Ones" or "Space Vikings") are well known for being... well... just like vikings. :D They love the combat, like yelling around and like to laugh a lot... they like being LOUD!!! They have a nonstop sense of humour and are pretty easygoing. I'm not sure... if they drink a lot too o_O Anyways, SA* could be "Wolf Blood". Chance that they transfer themself into a combat-frenzy and get higher health, speed, damage and a bonus to their reflexes and can deal with more damage caused by the enemy... well acting like werewolves and became literally like the "berserks" from the vikings. "Just a scratch" gives them the ability to take more damage than usual and gives them a healing boost. The Space Wolves are just like the vikings hardened swashbuckler. "Among my own kind" or "Wolf Brothers" It is well known that "family" is the most important thing to a wolf. As long as a Space Wolf is with his own kind, with his Brothers, he get's a bonus for health. Based on their familiar and sacrificially character they additionally get a bonus for their reflexes and speed. :D The more Wolves are in the pack, the higher the bonuses . ;) Reminder it only works WITH SPACE WOLVES o_O If you are the only Space Wolf in your team, you won't have these bonuses :( Because they love combat/fighting so much they always have some kind of "Killstreak-Competition", so they get a bonus for damage. You choose one player in your team and challenge him for a "Killstreak-Competition". Thats right, just like Legolas and Gimli in TLOTR ("The Lord of the Rings") :p If he refuses then nothing happens, if he accepts, let the fun begin! The more kills your competior gets, the higher becomes your damage, BUT THERE SHOULD BE A LIMIT I mean, it shouldn't get overpowered. Doesn't that sounds like fun? :D

Well... I don't know that much about Space Wolves... Just get your inspiration here: Armoury:http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Space_Wolves_Armoury aaand excl. Elite/ Hero classes:http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Space_Wolves#Great_Companies

So... That's it for now... I hope you ENJOYED readed that load of a ""letter"" :D and well IF I see at least a bit of this in the fullversion of this hopefully eligible overhyped awesome game-project... I SWEAR I WILL KISS THE DEVELOPERS FEET . Thank's a lot and have a great day and a great life... and sorry for my horrible """English""" it's not my native language you know :( FOR WHOEVER!!! ;)

For one, I dont know where you got the flexible part for ultramarines. Almost everything they do must be already written in the codex astartes or they get punished. And all chapters can join the deathwatch, not just Ultramarines, and there are chapters like the Imperial Fists that are rumored to have sent more marines for secondment to the watch than any other chapter.

Black rage is out, Since when a Blood Angel gets it he looses his mind, litteraly, and only the chaplins of the BA's are able to control them. So semi mindles marines are out.

Dark angels are closet trators and should be banished.

Space Wolfs are a pack oriented chapter, with the pack staying together at almost all times. Some slight buff would be interesting to their effectivnes in a pack of 5 or more, BUT if it is implimented it must not be game breaking. Something like 1% extra HP for every 5-10 space wolfs in your group with a limit of 5%. But that migh be to much. Would be nice to give SW extra sensory prowes, as in being able to spot enemy's through walls at short ranges, since they are able to do so when they do not have helmets on.

    Storm Wardens ladies!
  5. Hey now, Ultramarines are SUPPOSE to be flexible, that is what guilliman intended. Unfortunatly....................................they decided to follow the codex as their bible after his death

  6. Also the ultramarines already carry shortswords.........the gladius

I dont realy like the part of the Dark Angels (except for the plasma), because I play DA in TT.

    SA:

    Stubborne:
Dark Angels, which are near a High Value Target (HVT=Capture Points etc.) cant get supressed by heavy Bolters or else.

Plasma is pretty (good Name, eh?):
The pointcosts for Plasma (of all Kinds) are reduced, and it doesnt overheat so fast/easy.

    Troop Choices:

-Terminators get renamed to "Deathwing Terminators" and get a new colour scheme (you can guess?)
-Deathwing Terminators are able to spawn at Teleport Homers, and get a higher rate of Fire for 10 seconds

    Heros:

    -Ravenwing Blackknight:
    -Epic Black Armour
-Epic Corvus Hammer (can hit while driving)
-Can set one (1) Teleport Homer
    -Bike has Plasma Claws
    -Bike is faster
(Notes: I dont know if he should be able to get off the bike)

-Deathwing Knight (Can only spawned with at least 3 Persons in squad)
-Pretty Maces (Dont know the enlish names. German: Flegel der Sühne & Streitkolben der Absolution)
    -Pretty Shields
-They get an Armour Buff if they stand shoulder to shoulder
-Can ONLY spawn at a teleport homer
(Notes: Shouldnt be to strong, because you should have to take at least 3 of them to be effective. They function like a wall, so the m8s can push forward behind them. They dont have ranged attacks)

    Vehicles:

    -Land Speeder Vengeance
(for those who dont know it: Epic Plasma Gun, but easy to destroy. It is as fast as every Land Speeder)

    Warcouncil SA:
(Every Member of the Warcouncil should have a unique abillity, depending of his faction)

    The Hunt:
Dark Angels in the War Council can see enemys, that are in there Warcoucil, on the minimap.
If they face one of those in combat, hey can mark it and those count as HVTs for the Stubborne rule.
In addition to it, the marked player is visible on the map for the whole faction.
(Its not quite accurate with the lore, but in my opinion even an Ork can be one of the fallen xD)

    -----------------------------------------

Thats it. If every Faction and Subfaction gets such extra rules, its fair again, and you have a big range of diffrent playstiles in every faction. Pls like and comment :D

    Pretty good ideas over all.

For my dislike off the DA's only one question, are they any more stubborn than say, Imperial Fists, Black Templars or Space Wolfs. Those 3, specialy the fists are known for being reluctant on falling back or giving up superior cover to the enemy.

And for the fancy mace's are you talking about those 3x flail looking things?
  9. Hrolgard Hrolgard Arkhona Vanguard

Yes, Thats right. Only the Sergeant (First Knight if I remind it Right) has a flail. All Others a Mace of Absolution.
My codex isnt near right now.

For the stubbornenes, i don't Know how stubborne the fists or Wolfs etc are (except for Books/Lore).
The DA does have such a rule in TT, that they never retreat when standing Near a capture Point.

Now, that i think about it, i Could have mindet, that DA count to the greatest Tactical gemiouses.

  10. Woah easy guys  I never said, that I'm a "Fluff-Master". If you have other ideas or opinions, then fine, you can post it. But keep the discussion calmed please. The thing could be that the fluff sometimes can be look different, because it is known, that there are some perceptions, which might be disordered and misconceived by all the translation work for some other languages.
