"If you make me fix another warthog for four hours, I will kill you all!" She shouted when the vehicle began taking fire. Cascabel took a bead at the one on the chaingun with her DMR and took the shot. The brute wouldn't last long under persistent heavy fire and her new alien colleagues were needed for her paycheck. Hopefully the smoke grenade gave everyone some room to act.
Fek did his best to be smaller when the bullets wizzed by him tearing up the surrounding grass. However he was not unfamiliar with being shot at so he quickly recovered and layed prone while he pressed a button on his eye piece to switch to thermal so he could see through the smoke. Searching for a good target and deciding upon the chaingunner, so loud and so much fire power. He couldn’t just ignore it, maybe note to steal the gun later if given the chance. Have the brute carry it on his back.
The sudden fire from the chaingun did not deter him in the least - a large tower shield such as this allowed him movement all the same, and he glared over to the 'allies' that he possessed, both from the ship itself and those he had arrived with; there undoubtedly wasn't much else he could do now. So he walked. Doranus marched forward, stomping each foot into the sand as he got closer and closer, the tower shield covering his massive form. It certainly was not as durable as any 'Hunter' shield, but it was still something he had used to fight UNSC personnel. One of their own weapons wouldn't be of much trouble. For now, he simply marched forward with his arm-mounted spiker at the ready, waiting for the chance to return fire and kill the damnable pest that was trying to keep him from fighting any longer.
With the chaingun being a major issue, that both the human and Kig-Yar were both dealing with, Nalya instead turned her attention to one of the other pirates, namely the one that had tried to shoot the smoke profile. Her attention being demonstrated with another burst from her rifle being aimed at the aforementioned pirate. Even if she did comment under her breath about the human's topic of shouting: "Don't you mean that I have to fix the machine?"
< @Wata @Vlayden @Maleth @TuskatheDaemonKilla > The pirate rushing towards the shuttle, largely ignored by the mercenaries, finished off his SMG clips right as he reached the shuttle that was his group's target, coming into close combat with the two marines he had kept pinned down as they tried to protect the civilians. Granted the two were trained soldiers, so they could probably take him - but he did have one particularly fierce, wicked looking knife. The pirate which had been firing at the warthog began to back up towards the pelican ramp, another burst breaking the vehicle's windshield and the final bullet nicking Cascabel's arm, just enough to draw blood from a scratch. With his weapon empty, he turned to run back in and reload just in time for Nalya's burst to slam into his back, knocking him forward and onto the ground with a burst of blood Fek would take aim through the smoke, however just before he pulled the trigger another burst of bullets was sent his way, mowing down more grass and pinging the ground around him, some dirt pluming into the air which threw off his aim and sending the needle forwards to ping off the chaingun's gunner shield. However, even as it continued fire on the brute the gunner wouldn't be so lucky a second time. Roscoe's shot from the DMR flew forwards but instead of a clean headshot it slammed into the outer corner of his eye, though that still caused the gun to stop firing as it caused the gunner to fall backwards, though if he was dead they couldn't quite tell. And it seemed that after that, the pilot had enough. The engines began to spool up, sand beginning to swirl around the pelican's engines as the dropship began takeoff. There was still time to get aboard, but the last pirate in the ship would fire at anyone getting too close, and there was still one on the ground to worry about... [2 Pirates ; Each Merc can fire on one pirate or take another action]
Doranus was, by anyone's standards, mildly livid. Of everything, the enemy had the gall to flee from fighting. Fleeing! His grip on the shield tightened and he swung his axe experimentally behind him, now barking out something else - probably something quite vulgar - before running at the pelican, leaping up into the air without a single damned care in the world. One hand holding his shield and the other with his axe in hand, the primary thing the pirate would have seen was a gargantuan, roaring and clearly quite displeased behemoth, its fanged mouth opened wide and two eyes glaring up at him, the distance closing rapidly. If he could, Doranus would see about plain tackling the poor man in his sights; if he did~... Well. He'd at the absolute luckiest, have shattered legs. Or boneitis.
Fek made himself small again as the fire came towards him and seemingly hit everything around except him. Making an annoyed squawk at missing he tried his best to calm down so he could line up another shot as he fiddled with his eye piece to make it straight again. He zoomed in on one of the remaining pirates, more specifically the one going for the marines with a knife. A thought immediately appearing into his mind, perhaps put down the rifle and use the axe, the temptation was rather strong but he reluctantly kept his aim on the man. Perhaps another time, but right now he’d just shoot the pirate though perhaps they could interrogate him and find out something. Agreeing with that plan he decided to take am at the pirate but instead of going for a kill shot he aimed for their legs to try and bring them down nonleathally.
"Pfft, and they say you covies don't have a sense of humor!" Cascabel replied to Nalya with a laugh. She got her eye off her scope and looked for new targets, firing on the closest one with a double tap; one on the chest and head. At least she got to shoot scum, that made her always feel better about herself.
"Not like the pirates though, considering they arrived then turned tail, like an indecisive paramour." Nalya said, brief smirk to her face about her little reply. Meanwhile, she picked another target, namely the one with the submachineguns and let forth another quick burst of bullets, hoping to nail another target.
< @Wata @Vlayden @Maleth @TuskatheDaemonKilla > And just like that, the fight was just about over. The pirate keeping aim was unable to stop the brute, but that didn't seem to matter. Doranus got into the pelican right as it turned vertical, throwing the two pirates and the brute out, leaving just the pirate inside the ship, which seemed to continue to fly off. This would seem fortuitous however, since they now had three living hostages. Actually only two. Because just as Fek blasted out the knee of the one fighting the Marines, Nalya fired and blasted her rounds through his unarmored chest, spreading blood onto the shuttle and causing him to quickly bleed out. The marines (who all in all were holding their own) kept their guards up, though didn't point their weapons directly at any of the mercs. "Right.. now that's done, who are you?" asked the lead marine, the second checking on the civies and the cargo. "I assume mercs, so which company are you from?"
