Whenever you attack out of a roll (preferably of course while circling around your opponent) you break through his D-bash. Is this intentional? And if yes, why the hell would you do that? D-Bash is the only thing ranged Characters have against melee, or lower-tier melee Weapons have against higher. And it only buys you enough time to land 1 Attack (wich is good, i remember stunlock-bash) or to evade once and run for it (wich should be the ranged way to deal with melee up close i guess) The Roll is the natural thing to do if you see a Bash. And why having the Rock-Paper-Scissor system, if rollattack breaks bash? So, is it a bug? Is it like it should be? Share your thoughts
Same bug as patch 20. Sprint/evade attacks are a fast attack with more "force", according to Alexis' melee combat rules thread. The d-bash should "beat" all fast attacks regardless of force. Force only comes into play with clangs I think.
They changed it in patch 19 I believe to what it is now. Evade attack and sprint attack beat d-bash. In my opinion sprint attack is fine but evade is just too much.
Evade attacks beating Dbash is too much. Also what the fuck happened, why does the Dbash animation take forever now?! It's ridiculous that in the time someone takes to Dbash, they can clang off the Dbash, roll off screen, and be hitting you in the side before you ever finish.
Wouldn't that throw the entire RPS system off balance? Why would I use a power attack when a sprint/evade is quicker, covers more ground, and can't be interrupted? D-bash can be canceled now by rolling. It doesn't help that more often than not I'm hit by light attacks through the roll, but it can be canceled all the same. Keeping it lengthy while allowing it to be canceled was probably the best compromise they could come up with. I still think it should just let the kick out when a light attack connects. At least there is a clear winner there. Paper beats rock, etc. etc.
Sprint attack doesn't cost stamina either though and it does damage. I also don't really notice the stagger when a power attack connects. Is that in the game? Is it just poor hit detection?
Stagger is definitely there. I use it all the time. My opening is usually either sprint attack/quick then a strong right after since most people d-bash on reflex. You can tell by the swirling circle around their head. As for sprint attack, I would prefer it if we could just choose to quick/strong attack while running. The current way they have it is a lazy fix to this.
I guess the intention is to avoid a d.bash spam and give an option for a melee player to break through the d.bash. But maybe they should reconsider which weapon tier can break the d.bash with those kind of attack
