So... why can you dodge a successful DBash?

    Ill tell you why this wouldnt work, if you assault ranged and he decides to simply spam fast your options are limited.
    Either you break his durability which will take 3-4 hits or youll dbash. Dbash will ofc be faster, but youll be locked in animation as easy target to be picked off. If we reduce amounts of clang needed to break knife durability then ranged cant effectively defend himself.
    Alternatively you can just disengage and unload your pistol but thats no melee...

    Game was in pre-alpha for a long time. Between PA#15 and launch CQC was a ton more fluid and dangerous, but good Tacts and even Heavies could compete.

    How is this much different from being in melee in general? Seriously every time I see an enemy and ally fighting in melee, it's an easy kill unless I've got splash damage. And even then, if I'm patient, I can 1-shot the enemy and, at worst, down my ally.

    In what game are you playing where the agresser in melee wins 100% of the time?

    Hell dbash is the strongest it has ever been where one success means death for your opponent. I'm damn glad you can dodge away from it the way it is implemented right now.

    In what game are you playing where one dbash success means death for your opponent? The only time I've seen that happen is when the stunned person is heavily outnumbered.

    DBash + 400DPS worth of headshots pretty final. Feels bad.

    I can't... with 100% "reliability" i am absolutely unable to dodge out of Dbash.

    I have no idea why I can't and others can.

    It completely fucks with the meta in my head. I have no idea what is supposed to be intentional anymore. The meta is so death or glory... if you land the Dbash, it's 2.5 seconds of free damage time. If they dodge it, it's completely useless. There's too many extremes.

    I remember brent once saying that it was intentional to be able to dodge out of the way, yet I seem completely unable to do so, and we've not had a single word to explain what is intentional and what is a bug since that twitch (probably over a year ago).

    anyone with a (non heavy)gun can kill any melee class in the time of the dbash stun it aint hard.

  9. Can I give a short answer to your question?
    Because EC melee system is pure shit.

    Period.

    Seriously we passed from melee dominance to melee pure crap in just one single patch (1.3) and now we play with knives that rival Power Fists and guns who are better thsn axes in melee range. Then still we have bugs, lag, inconsistencies.

    I don't see how could anyone play in this condition, I find it absolutely terrible.

    The problem is my screen tells me you didn't dodge. I kicked my enemy in the face and he even has the stun effect around his head but isn't stunned. He rolls away after the stun hits. (probably lag but still confusing) I'll try to get a vid.
