I just got the letter about eldars, and it mentioned three classes. Dire Avengers, Dark Reapers, and Warlocks. I am a bit torn between all of these, and will have a tough time to pick! ^^ EDIT: Heh this fits in quite well when I saw it right below the thread "So, Which Craftworld"!
You might notice that the Eldar concept art prominently features a Guardian as well. Right now I'm intrigued by the Warlocks controlling Wraithguard thing so I'm erring towards them for an Eldar character. I still don't know which race to be though, possibly all four at various times, since I have collected all four of those available as TT armies at some time or another.
Warlock no doubt, melee and psychic powers ftw. Btw i didn't understand the wraithguard part... will it be a hero class like terminators? will it be a warlock pet (hope not...)? will it be a hero class but it will need a warlock in the squad (similar to TT)?
Sounds to me like Wraithguard will be a Warlock "weapon" I'm going with Dire Avenger until Scorpions get added
I feel like warlocks are going to be a popular choice simply because of their connection to wraithguard gameplay. Though they have other enticing characteristics as well, I just think that wraithguard, like terminators, will be popular and therefore so will warlocks. Just my two cents.
Steven Lumpkin just twitted this http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/...-Crusade-Talking-Eldar-with-the-40k-Team.html Brent Ellison: "Eldar jump packs " Swooping hawk confirmed
Just as clarification- When you're playing as a Wraithguard, it will feel like the Wraithguard is your class- just like when you play a Dire Avenger, Dark Reaper, or any other class. Fluff-wise, you're actually a Warlock who is controlling and guiding the Wraithguard. We're thinking about having the Wraithguard class be unlocked from within the Warlock's progression tree to help represent the symbiotic relationship between the two.
Really happy about Dire Avengers. Striking Scorpions are always my first choice but Dire Avengers are a great consolation prize if Scorpions don't make the cut. They better make the cut
Ok, so a Wraithguard will be a hero class and the lore justification of why we can use a construct with a soul attached to it is that we are warlock controling them.
Normal class. Our Hero classes are reserved for even more impressive things, along the lines of what you'd find in the HQ slots on the tabletop.
