While that's true, we don't know how casual/hardcore is he, so I'm giving out the default option to avoid unpleasant experience.
This game is not going Free To Play. At least not for like 5 years. I don't know what delusions of the warp some of you are getting in your head but it's not happening. Edit : Looks like I was somewhat wrong. @op Most people were under the impression the game was going to be planetside 2 but with a warhammer skin and perhaps that's what the devs were originally shooting for but fell short and ended up playing a little bit of word games which some felt was unreasonable while others felt it was. At any rate the people who felt gypped are pretty salty about it and bash at every opportunity. Effectively the game is still in beta. As such, might have to run some tweaks for best performance (Disable xbox dvr on win 10, antialisaing in gameusersettings.ini, some launch options) and be prepared for some rather large changes in the course of developmet but otherwise it's "Battlefield 40K" which is not a terrible thing.

He explained in a post recently that they will have to wait to introduce F2P until the game is available in all territories first. They will have new partners for those territories other than Bandai so they need to sort out new deals with them which will include how F2P will work. So we will have to wait until that is all sorted first before we have anything in concrete about it.
Dont buy the game. Wait until terminators are out, 3 months from now or so. If the reviews say the game hasnt changed that much from before, just skip this game.
