I don't think it's a deliberate choice to encourage faction loyalty, since the Devs actually want the reverse: to encourage cross faction play. I think they've just overestimated the campaign goals, if you look at the history the total wins per campaign has consistently gone up except for Eldar - who are notably are making the best progress this time around.
They probably saw that huge jump to 5000 players when they opened up full F2P. Thing they didn't take into account is that they didn't even retain half that number. I could have told them that they wouldn't hold those numbers.
Just an oversight really. Probably a good thing this happens I mean if every faction won every campaign every time it would just feel like a formality instead of a goal.
You are not alone Remo. Pointy-eared guys are sufffering too. Cowardice of faction's newplayers who left the game will win this time.
It motivates me to do the opposite, I'd rather get 10 wins on all my factions and have a higher chance of earning more RTC for any faction than focusing solely on one faction that may not win.
I think what really is, is that the win pool for each faction is based off of the huge skyrocket of matches played since F2P and the most recent marketing campaign. Since that campaign numbers of matches have dropped off so the expectations projected cant be met.
How would it be if only 1 faction could *potentially* win a campaign? With all other factions getting a lesser consolation prize for completing their own personal allotment of fights per person. All factions would still be required to complete a certain allotment of wins based on the player base, its just this way we don't get a scenario where "In the Grim Darkness everybody can potentially win! if they just try hard enough!" Would this breed more faction loyalty and less faction hopping / point farming, and make the game more grim dark, less my little pony?
Hm, that would force loyalty to a main faction. And if the devs don't want that is is unlikely to happen; although it would be nice to have every third campaign as a real competition. Problem would be how to set the goals so that despite player number imbalances all factions have a fair shot when only one can win?
With how they have been messing up the numbers they might as well do a round robin system of who gets to win.
