Is there any examples that stand out you can use to show your friend? Or at the very least have others show the same concerns as you?
Well, one of the main things about it that irks me is that the guy, who's a robot, by the way, is meant to be this awesome war machine created in World War II that did a load of awesome shit, but he doesn't look like something out of WWII at all. He looks like a walking, bright red metal penis with glowing green shit and Sonic the Hedgehog sneakers.
Sorry auto correct. Subtext, usin yer clever writin ta show wot ya feelin wit out comin out n sayin et. Not passive aggressive bull shitery, but constructive criticism? En eff not dat, private chat n work et out wiff her. Eff youz ez good mates she should be able ta see et from yer side.
Not even steampunk? That's just wasted opportunity. Does it interfere with the actual storyline or is it just effecting you?
Yeah, I guess I could try easing her into it. It won't be easy as [Colonel Radec voice]I am not a very patient man[/Colonel Radec voice], but it's worth a shot.
A little bit of both. She doesn't really do anything with the whole WWII thing, she just uses it as the basis for his vague, barely explained back-story that amounts "Some people he liked died, so it's perfectly acceptable for him to kick the shit out of all of your OCs and be a whinging emo cunt." You'd never guess he was from World War II either, he talks like your stereotypical 12 year old Call of Duty player that says they're fucking your mom on Xbox Live, which is another thing that irritates me. I also simply do not like it when people fuck around with real history where millions of people actually died for their stupid stories. It's the same reason why I utterly loathe Hetalia: Axis Powers.
Now that is a good question, how to tell someone one of their favorite characters is seen far more obnoxious than they are meant to portray. Reminds me of all the people that could have told Lucas that Jar Jar needed a one liner Colombian Necktie. Well try not to utterly shit on the development, but point out in which areas the portrayal is contextually inferior to what she is envisioning. Also what's the oppisite of a Dark Horse character?
