As I recall, the old ones didn't enslave the necrontyr. They kinda ignored them before the war of heaven. The necrontyr on the other hand hated the old ones for some reason because even then they had the personality of a crotchety old man.

Apparently there's some rumour that the American Media reported that Britain was "Under siege" and "Reeling" after the recent Terror attacks. That would be strange as it never happened, we got on with our lives to the extent that the campaigns for the General Election didn't stop, they paused but did not stop, and we had the GE on Thurday. Mustn't be true then, with the rumour just being exactly that.
