  1. Yes, there is a difference in origins, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't a nugget of truth blown out of proportions by many magnitudes.

  3. I don't want to see the nugget, that ended up becoming a six headed snake monster....

  4. Well, look at the dragon if you want a really crazy example.
It started out being a komodo dragon, grew wings, became 20+ feet long, and started breathing fire, lmao.

What are you talking about? both are in "The Oddessy" one of the most easily known greek poems of all time.
Your Granny has it mixed up bro. If Scylla doesn't get you Charybdis will. Remember that while Scylla was a multi-headed monster that would snack on a couple of your men, Charybdis would take you entire ship and everyone in it. The oracle actually says this to him and tells him to take the Scylla's seacourse instead of Charybdis, but Odysseus, in all his infinite wisdom, finds a way to go through BOTH and lose his entire crew.
    Great job Odysseus. Great job.
  7. Pfft, in comparison to the Hydra, Minotaur, Manticore, Griffin, Nymphs/Sylphs etc? Sorry, but Charybdis is not all that commonly known.
  8. If you avoided Charybdis, you met Scylla. The opposite is true if you avoid Scylla. She wasn't wrong, but she would have been more correct if she said avoid one and you face the other.

I always found it amusing that he was known as Odysseus the cunning. Not the most cunning thing to do, by trying to go through a rock and a hard place.
