Well they do seem to be having problems repeating the success they've had with relatively new characters like Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, The Mighty Thor goddess of thunder, Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales, and Moon Girl. Though both Squirrel Girl (that's The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) and Miles Morales (Ultimate Spider-Man) were already well established. Yet Marvel's support for other female heroes, like Savage She-Hulk (The Incredible Hulk's daughter), Mockingbird, and Valkyrie, seems to be little to non-existent. As for America Chavez, she's from a pocket universe/dimension called the Utopian Parallel which seems to be populated by only women and the Demiurge, and where everyone seems to have super powers. After her parents heroically sacrificed themselves, she ran away from the Utopian Parallel because no one needed saving there and she wanted to be a hero like her parents. And she was broken up at the death of Warmachine.
Well I'm no comic book guy, but it might be the case of if it aint broke don't fix it imo. It's like Spacemarine books I think. It's nice to have a few books on other chapters everye now and then (Like the Scythes), but most people want the main focus to be on the originals. I'd hazard a guess, that they are creating all these new characters too fast, and with little substance, and people are just interested in the original pantheon of comic heroes aswell. Or perhaps their writting team isn't as top notch as it once was. Changing Thors gender wouldn't have earned them many browny points either for that matter. Also....is there any way to get into said pocket dimension by any chance? That would be a nice vacation I think...
I remember her like this; Now I want her death for what she did to Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. Never even apologized and wants to build a giant bubble wall around the planet. She's basically being written as a female Trump. I hope Captain Hydra locks her up. That, or She Hulk will get over her PTSD and feel the rage again without losing control. Then she can beat on Marvel till she apologizes in front of a camera. However, it will never be like the old ways, because the old ends and the story must go on.

I kinda remember Binary. Her Warbird identity. But I think I prefer this version of it. Finally, her current Captain Marvel look. Although she instigated the situation it was Clint Barton who killed Bruce Banner. But that situation should never have happened. And Warmachine died on her watch when they went after Thanos. She-Hulk ended up in a coma and missed Civil War II and the death of her cousin. There were a lot of close calls because heroes and S.H.I.E.L.D. went in heavyhanded based off the intel they got from Ulysses. The Oldman Logan from another universe nearly killed someone because of this. Even when Tony Stark told her how Ulysses' powers worked, she ignored him and the inherent weaknesses of those abilities. People were even illegally detained under her orders, and she tried to do it to Nico Minoru, a friend and team-mate. But a female Trump, she wasn't. Unless you think that Trump is conflicted over his policies and in quiet moments questions himself whether he's doing the right or not? After putting Tony in a coma, she got told that although he did trust her, he just didn't trust those that would come afterwards to use Ulysses power of prediction.
So who else would like to move on to something not as cancerous? Let Marvel fall into the trash heap of history. Well at least the comics, ths movie franchises will be around for a while longer. Probably because they made better publishing decisions.
I do think that it's funny that GW has the self awareness to include "Why should we trust you?" in the FAQ article for 8th Edition. It's a good sign as then they must be aware of the discontent and therefore can possibly improve.
