Sadly religion is not fading fast enough (especially certain parts of our world where it's just getting stronger). And are you sure it was faith and not rage that let you break those chains? Did you believe in your gods so much that they lent you the strength to prevail? No, I say you did it yourselves. You needed no gods, only the determination and anger to rise up. And you did, so good on you! Besides, it's a new age. I say go head to head, one on one with those you hate and fight to the death. Eventually one side will have killed out the other. And I somewhat envy your cultural pride, it must feel nice.
Well he was worshipped even when he was living, breathing and killing... Mankind will always find something to guide them be a lust for knowledge, faith in a higher power or whatever, we long for something. I think we both agree that Commies suck but Russia at the time wanted them or at least accepted them. Then I'm sorry to say but I think you're an extremist. Just as bad as those extremist Religious people. The only difference is your refusing to strike but not out of a understanding killing is rarely justified but because you cannot. Architecture isn't good or bad, it is merely history and to decide this bit needs removing to be is disgusting. If it got to suck a point I'd happily have the world EMPed to remove all electronics to stop such a thing happening. I dislike the look of architecture from the 80s where everyone went into the fad of bland grey buildings. I dislike modern architecture with how most things just look retarded. But I don't want it removed. Personally the architecture and artwork on churches and cathedrals shits all over modern "art".
Ugh, I HOPE we don't find something else. We're learning how to do the things "Gods" were attributed to be able to do, I see no reason why we'd fall in line for another. And yes, I'd say mentally I am an Extremist in that regard. But I feel it is justified when I see the good religion has done versus the bad (and found that bad was generally much more than good). I will, however, totally agree with you regarding the architecture of that age. It was much better than modern-day buildings.
It will fade in time I have no doubt Kaptin. There is cracks in all parts of the world, where there once was not. Yes Greeks believed god was on their side, my family certainly did. The belief that they were freeing their land, and bringing the "true" god back to Greece, is what made my ancestors fearless in their desire to see us free. Seriously my family had a massive impact in the foundation of the independance. Anger also played a part, I have no doubt a big one, but faith is what made us believe we could not lose. It's not so black and white mate. think of the international outrage if Orthodox Greeks started marching towards Constantinople. Even if we are in the right to do so, we'd be blackballed, by everyone more so then we are now. And the Muslim world would surely support their Islamic ally. We'd be eradicated, unless the Russians feel like remembering the bonds our two countries have had in the past.
I honestly envy your faith, I really do. It would be nice, I think, to have that sort of feeling. But sadly Deicide is my ultimate dream, so that won't be happening lol. And I wish sometimes it could be that black and white, like how it was on the dueling grounds. 2 people, 1 outcome. Fucking Thunderdome. Actually come to think of it, I'd rather have that than wars. Seems much more efficient to have 2 people settle their ultimate differences in mortal combat, rather than governments sending armies out to kill each other while the leaders sit back and watch. Be interesting to see world leaders fighting to the death.
