I guess. Probably me just getting confused. If in War didn't the Greeks seem to at least respect and want Aries more though? Mars was said to be honourable while Aries would use anything so long as it got the job done so to speak. Could be all Roman Propaganda though... No one is saying go back to the old world... Bring the Old world to the new. That is Luddite thinking. That which once was may never come back into being nor can the dead ever be brought back to life. America can come again. Thus there was, let's say, distrust. With the Romans, for one they believed themselves to be the sons of Troy, and Aries was on their side in the war according to the Iliad. Plus, yeah, they were more into the war fervor for conquests.

Rememebr the past but embrace the present and look towards an uncertain future without fear. They failed to kill everyone because they were never meant to succeed. In FO2 they begged for the past that could never be again. In FO3 they tried to embrace the present for what it was, but was thwarted because of a machine of the past. Autumn's plan would have succeeded otherwise and those damn BOS wouldn't have had the justification to hound them to deatg. Then you learnt the wrong lessons. The Luddites are savages. They do not seek to take the past and forge it into the future they seek to throw away what Humanity was, they want to consort with Muties and join them as equals. If not their betters. That is an odd way to say they were a plot device used by the Chosen One to show their destiny of stopping the Enclave... FO3 they were stopped because Bethesda didn't allow you to assist the Enclave. If anything they were stopped by a machine known as Liberty Prime. Without Prime the defences would have been nigh impenetrable to anything the Brotherhood had. The Brotherhood would always oppose the Enclave, no matter what they claim the Brotherhood knows the Enclave from back west and see them like that. They'll fight tooth and claw to defeat them as was shown in Broken Steel DLC. If they come back and have thrown away that which made them the Enclave then they're not the Enclave. They could be remnants but if they're trying to live with the NCR, with the Brotherhood or anything else they've failed. They had a purpose and job to return the Wasteland to the American Government so it could be rebuilt. Not to live in some wasteland ruled over by squatters. Nothing more depressing than seeing a man who used to call his home his now asking someone else if it is ok if he lives in it. The Luddites are the definition of ignorance. They choose not to use these power weapons and technologies of the past or to have them as reminders of the past, they destroy them. They turn them to scrap and claim to be better because of it. That is finding a priceless artefact and deciding to smash it for smashing it's sake. If you ask me I think they're insane or brainwashed. Either way they've condemned themselves.
