I thought they were just freed from Reaper control and saw what happened to them. Pretty much during ME2 when the Collector Base is Destroyed or rendered empty by the weapon you were asked to use that I can't remember its name. Anyway there were smaller Collector ships outside of the Collector Base and they survived, eventually in ME3 they are found by Leviathan who's been hiding since they created the Reapers in the biggest act of retardation. "Let's make robots so lesser Organics don't make robots to kill Organics... THE FUCK YOU MEAN THESE ROBOTS WE MADE ARE TRYING TO KILL US!?" But yeah Awaken Collectors are canon. I think Javik would be insulted greatly if you considered them the same. Collectors are the same as Protheans as a Husk is a Human. Closest analogy I can make but it is even more vast because Collectors have been ripped apart in terms of genetic code. It seriously fucks off Mordin. There is only like one ship of them or something though, very rare even by Collector's previous standards which was they're considered myths and legends as they don't really exist. My main annoyance with ME3 and ME2 is its design so if I hadn't played the previous ME I can pick up ME3 or 2 and it'd make full sense for the most part and seems to be explain things to Shepard that he/she would have learnt years ago. Sometimes it is references to a previous game like when in ME3 you're going into the Geth Dread and Joker mentions they could just look out the window and they laugh because Geth ships don't have windows due to structural weakness but others like at the start of the ME3 game everything can explain most shit to you as if that year or so in custody on Earth has Shepard suffer from mind loss or something.
In ME3 that line is altered if you did Legion's mission and Joker goes "I bet they'll never expect us to make another window joke" Or something like that But yes, there was one Collector Dreadnought sized ship, which is dead thanks to you, probably have other smaller ships running around collecting weird stuff like the collectors usually do

Yeah but would prefer more than just a few line changes but whatever, still was an enjoyable game. Nope, Protheans are dead. Javik depending on the ending I think kills himself once the Reapers are done with. Leviathan hide them self away completely, only through Humanity's retardedness did with manage to find them and through the use of a hyper intelligent AI made with Reaper tech... Also they were consider myth of myths. Collectors even awoken ones to Javik would be corrupted and fucked up parodies of his people. He'd probably kill them on sight. He is the avatar of vengeance for his people. I think it was vengeance anyway.
Possibly, I think in one ending he goes to that world filled with big stupid jellyfish and they worship him like a god.
