I think he'd be much better if they didn't have a clear page limit on lore books. IDK, to me going to 300 pagers is cutting back, I used to read Omnibus sized novels on the regs, but I still enjoy Warhammer literature quite a lot, though that's largely because it allows you to project into the story more than most. I myself am reading Faith and Fire from the perspective of a Sorcerer Warlord studying the fanaticism of the Imperial Creed. I think ABD has more ability than you're giving him credit for, I mean Night Lords as a Trilogy is pretty damn solid, I think. Not a literary masterpiece, certainly, but perhaps perfect for a film adaptation. Not to mention I'm sure GW does have prescribed constraints for any story they produce, I think the sad truth about trying to create a semblance of continuity in such a massive setting is that creativity takes a dip, as ultimately the writers are forming GW's vision, just in there own version. And sadly, some of those versions such.' On that note, has anyone read the Age of Sigmar lorebooks yet? I'm quite curious about their direction but I'm really not willing to get on board until I've seent some reviews on the matter. So far, it kinda looks like they're focusing on Power Characters(sues) with the whole God-Emperor thingy going on. IDK, I think the Horus Heresy sounds better as a SciFy than a Fantasy.
.....I am kinda on the fence about Age of Sigmar. I wanna get into the lore, but I just think the whole setting is a bit dumb to be honest. It lacks the charm of the old world.
