I bring light, to the lost.

    And hope, to the hopeless.

I bring the promise of Ascension, and the prophecy of the power of Chaos!
  3. First, who the 'Eck is Cain?

And secondly I realised I should have said "the story in its entirety."
I can safely post it up to a point, but after that point it would have to be abridged/edited.
  4. *claps* damn right you edited it!!!!

You bring slavery to the free!
You bring power to the desperate!
You bring a way to betray the god of mankind!

    Back into the warp heretic!

Your "God" is a coward and a fool, who never would accept Mankind's destiny to embrace the perfection that is Chaos.

His violent downfall was the result of his own lies, and blasphemies.

And he will be dragged down, into the pit, of HELL, and all their shall shake their heads and ask:

"Could this be the one who conquer the Earth and shook the Galaxy to it's core?"
  7. Hopefully I don't get murdered for it.

Doable? Maybe. Will it be implemented? Most assuredly not.

This isn't meant for IRL-use, but rather, as a form of government in a sci-fi verse I'm a part of

As for what it is, the basic premise is somewhat similar to the Spartan government of old, but with a twist. Everyone in the government would be members of the military. Note: this isn't a dictatorship, the military would have constitutional authority, and their rule, law-abiding.

A federation of different nation states, united under the rule of a single monarch

A council of the highest ranked leaders in the government propose legislation, in a similar fashion as Congress or Parliament do so today. However, instead of votes, members of the council can bet on whether they think a legislature would succeed or not.

Should the amount of bets in favor of the legislation succeed (by what margin, I am unsure but thinking 60% at the moment), then it is passed, effective immediately.

What would you bet with? Why, military assets. A gain in military assets would coincide with a promotion. Enough promotions could get you a seat on the council. A loss in assets would coincide with a demotion, naturally.

The monarch would be the individual with the largest portion of all military shares.

  8. Didn't really fix anything.
  9. The purpose behind betting is that you have a personal stake in what you're trying to get passed, rather than a vote, which you can essentially throw away without any cost to you whatsoever.
  10. I... wot?

Generally thou in a gamble you put a stake in something you don't have control of the outcome, it's voting that's supposed to decide the outcome. Betting isn't really a decision is what I'm saying, it's an alignment of interests.
