Necrons have fought and destroyed enemies a lot tougher than anything that exists in the galaxy right now. Tyranids... we don't even know what kinds of things they've devoured outside of this galaxy.

I'm still curious about how the tyranids actively avoid the necrons in some lore. It amuses me because I imagine the tyranids as the stereo typical white tourist walking down a side street "I wonder whats down here." Suddenly a group of necrons with shanks appear and start hurtling abuse at the tyranids like "Yu wut blud I'll proper cut you up mate!" so the tyranids just back away like "we cool we cool!"
