Sure a primarch is the image of his legion, but on legion rivalries, they are not the same as primarch rivalries imo.
Well lets put it this way. The ultramarines and word bearers, during the heresy at least, were Rivals, But Guilliman and Lorgar were not. Guilliman didnt care for Lorgars way of thinking, and had no reason to rival him. Lorgar Just hated Guilliman. There will be some legions that have more then one rival. The Dark angels hunted down the Night lords, so i really do consider them rivals. As for both of their primarchs? Well El jonson and Kurze are both emo fuggers.

I would have to disagree to an extent, Lorgar hated his brother at first, but by the time it got to setting Guilliman's empire ablaze the roles swapped. Lorgar recognized that when the Smurfs burned his perfect cuty it was nothing personal, just following orders. As Guilliman grew to hate Lorgar, Lorgar stopped hating him and became the one going, "nothing personal, but razing Ultramar is a tactical necessity. Funny thing is, no matter how they end the Shadow Crusade arch, Lorgar will have prevented the Ultrasmurfs from defending Terra, and keeping the largest singular fighting force bogged down in a defensive war is still a victory in the grand scheme of the Heresy. Albiet since Horus lost a phyric one.
