So... Patch stuff?

    I'm genuinely surprised no one is talking anything about the patch. Is that what it has come down to?

    Anyone noticed anything on the melee side?

    The one thing that was obvious to me is that they broke the Eldar Shuriken Catapult scope texture to always be the Dark/orange version instead of blending with its current skin, making it look super ugly on the Alt/Bundle/MC skins.

    On the melee side the timing feels much better as it seems to either be quicker or transition between animations quicker. It also feels like banshee strong attack ranged got buffed and orks strong attack range nerfed to make it about the same range but i may be wrong here as i don't play banshee much.

  8. After extensive testing today on the garrison I can say that for the first time in the history of EC the strong attack distances for all 4 factions are equal. This is great news and the first step towards getting all factions on the same playing field within the RPS system.

    The only exception to that rule are Maces, Axes and Fists/Klaws. The strong attack distance for these heavy weapons is slightly longer than swords to compensate for the much longer and much slower wind up animations. This is how it was for these weapons during Alpha and makes perfect sense as long as we dont go back to the crazy warping across the room distances(which isnt the case now).

    Unfortunately rolling/evade attack distances are still all over the place. Eldar Warlock, Banshee and Striking Scorpion evade attack distance is longer than Ork, LSM and CSM Assault and melee support evade attack distances by about a full character body length.

    That's a pretty huge advantage IMO versus rolling and evading enemies. These evade attack distances need to be normalized for all factions just like strong attacks in order to build that firm foundation for melee in EC. Please dont nerf Eldar evade attack distances, rather buff Ork and Astartes evade attack distances up on par with Eldar.

    We should see equal attack distances(per attack type) for all 3 types of melee attacks for all factions. Fast attack, strong attack and evade attack ranges should all be uniform and cover equal distance for each faction. The only exception to the rule being slower swinging, heavy weapons should cover a bit more ground in order to remain competitive and to make up for the slower wind up animation. That will come into play in the future for all factions when/if we see slower swinging 2 handed weapons.

    I believe they only touched the speed for normal/strong attacks and not the distance for evades and such. But if they can make the SA uniform and equal and they can probably do the same for the others over time/when they get to it.
