Hatred, brought back into Steam by the hand of GabeN. Even though it's a dull twin-stick shooter, it certainly generated a lot more controversy than MK X.
I don't think y'all understand the process of being rated. We submit a suggested rating and the game, and they judge us and give us comments on what needs to be addressed, if anything to get that rating. The fact that other games are getting different ratings, even though they have things that are in that document, has much more to do what they decide applies to us (the 12+ version of gore, the 16+ version of gore or the 18+ version of gore) on top of gore and the circumstances where it's deemed unnecessary violence, and the fact that a spacemarine might not even be consider resembling a human being, it can all change. So we're aiming and pushing the limits, like I said on twitch, then fix downwards. I'm not undershooting and accidentally end up Teen. That means we didn't push far enough. So, it's all relative. Very much so.
True, but Hatred generated most hatred (kek) in the States i think, what with it being a mass shooting spree simulator. Just like people cried about Postal back in the day. Mortal Kombat is sometimes too ridiculous, especially the newest game, even i went "eww" a few times watching some of the overdone fatalities. Anywho, it seems the whole PEGI thing is ridiculously complex, with thankfully tons of loopholes. Hopefully they will be able to exploit some. But on the Steam end, i talked to Nathan once in a PM and he corrected me on that, i too thought as you did, that Steam doesent care. It would appear it does, perhaps Nathan can go into more details.
So No IG confirmed ? I mean they resemeble Humans to much to to allow a lower Gore rating or something. Im not tryin to start a rumor im just asking
It was because you could kill civilians who were crying and begging not to die... That was the 1 and only reason they gave it a AO rating. If they didn't have that it would be rated M.
so if you do end up removing a lot of the gore, will we get a content download after the fact that will give us the gore back?
@Oveur Thanks for taking the time to explain the situation. After launch would it be possible to sell DLC that had more gore and would change the rating of the game?
