So Night Lords are having a sorcerer as a support class or what?

Maybe that's a side effect of the Warp storm thingy mentioned in the last State of the Crusade? Skulls and stuff appearing in the sky above the battleground.

  2. What I mean is that I doubt the Night Lords let them gather a bunch of forbidden lore, preform elaborate rituals regularly or even regularly practice magic(etc) in their presence. Fears of corruption would probably prevent them from diving as deep into the warps mysteries as a Sorcerer of another Legion.

So yeah, I do think they'd on average be less talented because they wouldn't have yhe same level of access to the dangerous things that make sorcerers more powerful.

    So more like,
NL Sorc: Hey dude, can I borrow a bunch of slaves for a blood sacrifice, I found a daemon willing to increase my power in exchange for souls.
NL Commander: Fuck no witch, keep your bad voodoo off my ship before you taint us all.
  3. That's more accurate. Sorcs are frowned upon by the NL but tolerated (at least temporally, like Ruven). So a Sorc unit for NL is really not wrong, they'll just get bad looks by other legionnaires, that's all.

And we stick " kick me notes" on their backpack.

So....how many votes for the Apothecary?

I would still vote for Sorcerers. Mainly because i believe that NL Apothecary are too few to be send on missions. I see them as reclusive mortician doing their craft away from most conflicts in the comforts of a cozy apothecarium on larger vessels. Lucky bastards the proof that good grades gets you somewhere.

i totally want my NL sorcerers to summon lighting storm with skull faces when we're raiding a planet. >D
my warband doesn't shy away from the the gods. so i vote for sorcerers.
  8. Yeah regardless of the Night Lord distaste for the warp, petty sorcerers are a dime a dozen, but in Chaos an Apothecary is a rare commodity. Talos and his crew weren't deployed on the regular because Night Lords like to send their medics straight into the front lines, they went out because that warband was a pack of losers underdogs that had to risk valuable individuals often due to limited numbers/resources. I think a true Chaos Apothecary would be more in line with the Flayer, a personal attendee of the Warlord or busy with crucial behind the scenes operations such as implanting geneseed into newbloods.

In other words, I still think that your Ruvens are more common than your Variels, and they'd still want to send their Ruvens into the furnace before they risk their Variels regardless.

Yeah we like to send the Ruvens away. Shoo you Ruvens shoo. Go play with the warps somewhere that isn't here. :p Then come back for dinner I got weird work for you. :D

Mmmmm, debatable. What measure do you qualify even a 'petty' Chaos Sorcerer?

Eldritch magic with any sort of kick isn't for the weak of heart or frail of mind, Chaos Sorcerers are probably relatively rare unless you're counting people who just know how to conjure a fireball or pull an object towards them.
