A couple of days after a product is released doesn't accurately represent a success or failure. Several factors, like marketing, interest level, and plain "word of mouth" can take time to gather momentum. Due to the reviews and the fact the game has been out for a while now, people weren't really chomping at the bit to get it downloaded. If it is going to succeed, it needs time. The same can be said for failure.
I really don't know, so i have to believe you. I hope you are right and the big success is coming now. really hope so
@Mozinwrath is right. It'll take some time to tell what the results are. You're right: this IS seal clubbing. I'm a little guilty to admit it, but the most amusing part for me as an LSM main is having GG EZ pick-up games against the other factions because they don't know what they're doing. I'm still trying to herd cats on the LSM side, but it's mighty nice to see the other factions having the same problems LSM has historically been faced with. I've also noticed in the games that I've played that were GG EZ, there were no "git gud scrub!" comments from the LSM side. This is encouraging.
Speaking of herding cats, I managed to get some new players to follow my instructions in PvE horde mode. It was working great, they were all doing the right things, then 5 to 6 waves in the connection to server failed. I hope we all disconnected, not just me, otherwise they are Nid food now and cursing me for abandoning them.
Seeing more guilds stomping randoms as well. Considering they want the game to survive they certainly go out the way to ruin the new player experience. Servers constantly losing connections Toxicity after games Lack of squad leading tutorials All of these things are going to revert the games population back down to what it was prior to F2p.
EC is by leaps and bounds heaps less toxic then pretty much any other shooter I've ever played in recent memory. Anyone that comes here and genuinely finds this game "toxic" needs to play literally any popular shooter or MOBA if they want real toxicity.
Both today and portions of yesterday, I have seen some hilarity ensue with the influx of new players. A race between a Trukk and a Rhino, going all over the map. I'm sure people weren't happy about their spawn point being out in no man's land. An impromptu demolition derby between 2 Trukks and a Wartrukk. True Ork style! I killed the same 3 Marines with a Kannon. Twice. They ran to a doorway and started to do the "Strafety Dance", and I blowed em up. They respawned, went back, and did the exact same thing. With the same results. I mean, I laughed. I'm sure they were not happy. New players learning the game is hard enough. The worst thing, however, is being a complete @#$% after a match. One of the problems is that it comes from new players too.
