I'm all for SoB - though I will still say that they should, in a stat-to-stat line, inferior to full-fledged SM/CSM. HOWEVER, SoB should also have their own little mechanics (namely faith powers) that, when properly used, should allow them to wipe the floor with the filthy heretics left and right. Let me give you a plastic example: Random CSM:" Har-Har, it that some stupid mortal stuck in power armor? She's smaller than me, less muscular than me, doesn't have a black carapace, two hearts , etc., etc. . I could crush her with my hands alone!" Random CSM:" H-hold on . . . why is her bolter glowing all of sudden . . . no . . . no-no-no-no-oh-gods-please AAAARGH KHORNE PRESERVE ME!" Voice of HIM on Terra:"And that's what you get if you f*** with daddy's girl, asshat." (I am aware that, from an ideological standpoint, the Emperor would hate the Ecclesiarchy, but hey, paraplegics can be choosers.
Saint Alica Dominica and five fellow sisters have stood before the Golden Throne and the Emperor quite possibly spoke to them personally. Even if that didn't happen, the Adeptus Custodes, the single organisation that would care for the Emperor's will, personally spoke up on behalf of the Sisterhood and the Ecclesiarchy when it was all brought on trial. The Sisterhood and the Custodes even maintain formal and friendly ties with each other. The Emperor likely does approve of them.
Why does she have the symbol of the Inquisition on her pauldron? The are not the Inquisition and their armour does not have feature the inquisition's markings. I never got why fan art constantly gets this wrong.
Well, they do have very strong ties with the Ordo Hereticus. Which is somewhat ironical if you consider that the Ordo is also the one responsible for keeping tabs on the Ecclesiarchy.
SoB are affiliated with the inquisition as one of their major ordos is part of it, ordos hereticus, to root out heresy and traitors alike within the imperium.
Thing is though, the Sisters are NOT part of the Hereticus. This little tidbit was retconned back out of the game and Sisters are once again, solely part of the Ecclesiarchy. Nor have the Sisters ever displayed Inquisition Iconography. Even during codex Witchhunters, the Sisters are never once drawn or sculpted with Inquisition Iconography.
The Ordo Hereticus is one of the three major orders of the Inquisition. Their specific role is protecting mankind from itself, by combating such internal threats as treason, mutation, heresy and "witches". They are aided militarily by the Adeptus Ministorum's Adepta Sororitas. Because of its vast jurisdiction and mission, the Ordo Hereticus is the largest of all the Inquisition's Ordos.[4] So you got a beef with the fact someone decided to go with cool icons... I am not interested in this argument truth to be told.
