I miss read, I thought you meant people arguing against it didn't bother reading. Why should it not stay that way, what harm does it do to the franchise, will women really feel better having a space marine that has the same shape and size as a male space marine, does it really matter, can you really not just enjoy the lore as it is? What is so wrong with SoB, please answer what is wrong with SoB before anything else. Even tho you make perfect sense "some" will completely ignore you and reply with "You'll get more money", this subject has been brought up and made a conclusion more than once that SoB is the female equivalent of Space Marines.
its interesting that you stop replying when someone comes up with an argument as good as killbo's is. and the argument he stated had been said quite a few times--by me and others.
I agree. There will be plenty of female options, so the idea that there needs to be female space marines doesn't make sense. It is impossible to please everyone and trying to will just destroy 40K and turn it into some politically correct crap that no one even wants. There will always be people more than ready to tear up 40K lore, I don't see any reason to give into them. 40K has a large, loyal fanbase and GW actually cares about it's lore, so no one has to worry about female space marines. Like Murtag says, even folks that want more female options aren't asking for something ridiculous like female space marines. Lore changes, and GW is expanding its repertoire o bring in a bigger variety of people. I believe this will include SoB in the game (eventually) to satisfy those people craving females in power armor. Don't get me wrong, there will always be some that complain, but that's life.
Much flashbacks..... Threads about a figurine that is apparently a special made custom made only in shop to buy, to apparently look like a female space marine. Then someone did a homerun and the ball flew all the way out of the stadium, and now we have moved on to the parking lot of off topic conversation not related towards the threads initial purpose. Now then. ------------------ Female space marines cant exist as a counter point to space male space marines, it would never work, i am not pointing towards lore because of the zygotes that the male has. This is something well established by far that its only male and has been like that for many many years unchanging, its one of those cold facts that wont change no matter how much you poke on it. However, if you want you can indeed have badassery of females wearing a different type of power armour, and that have different strengths due to manipulation of organs and genes, a brand new process of creating a super human being, different then space marine creation due to limits and other potentials that only women have that male space marines do not have. Flip the conditions, flip the look of them make them distinct, flip the requirements and dig deep to make them unique. This is called imagination and inventing, unofficially people will say female space marine, officially it would be named something else for example, "Emperors Wrath", or something, it is acceptable to do it in such a way, but you can not mirror existing things and let it roll. Of course you can say nope nope, i dont like it i dont allow it, well they changed up the necrons into what we refer as newcrons, some like it others do not like it. So. Tl;DR You cant have female space marines. But you can make a badass counter point towards a space marine, but it can not be a female space marine but something different and distinct.
This is the bottom line pretty much. If it had started where men and women were recruited and turned post-human then it would be fine. Astartes would be Astartes because the gene-seed would make them near identical. There's no feasible way to implement it at this point though. It's fun to talk about, in my opinion, but that's it. I don't think it should ever happen. It's a great fan fic type situation for shits and giggles or house rules for games.
LOL this thread might end but the topic never will, as said before this arguement/discussion has been around since 40K came out and will be around probably long after 40K has gone
Meh. I personally don't care for "female" space marines, but allowing the SoB to be an option would be really awesome in this game.
