I'm kinda wondering if there's been any news on anti-griefing systems/punishments? I know there's friendly fire, but usually games have limits on how much you can get away with. And more importantly for me, will Chaos be exempt/have lessened punishment for this? It's not a big deal to me if they aren't, but I do think it would be amazingly flavorful and allow for some nice emergent gameplay if chaos, and maybe the orks, were allowed to be treacherous scumbags we know them to be.
No direct news, but I suspect they will have something similar to PS2. I doubt Chaos will be any different from the other races.
Sure, it would fit the lore. But no, it would not work in a teambased MMO. There will prob be enouth griefers even without such a feature. Especially on the Free 2 WAAAGH! side of EC. So we do in a way get such a feature for the Orkz atleast. For good or worse. -hehe-
Friendly fire can completely change the nature of the game. While incompetence sucks from other players, it forces folks to check fire so you certainly wouldn't want to fire your plasma cannon into a melee combat to clear them out. No really, this is what happens in Space Marine THQ's Space Marine doesn't have FF by default, so what we get are heavy units 'hosing' a forward 'kiting' tac or assault marine to a point they kill any incoming units they're drawing. However in private games where this is turned off, it provoked better awareness and more credible tactics to engage the other team. If I had a choice in the matter? I would like to see Friendly Fire on for all races. Makes more sense to 40k for stuff like since since you shouldn't be shooting into melee or shelling your own people without consequence.
Orks should be the only races with highly reduced friendly in fighting penalties. Orks fight other orks most of the time in lore and nothing more fun than killing your best friend and laughing.
For some strange reason I don't think making one faction 'the griefing faction' is a very good idea...
Only one class in that faction is free. It might even turn out they are also limited to just one sub-faction too. Over all I feel the free thing will work if it stays with just one faction.
Chaos hierarchy is not based off friendly fire, you need to put down the Dawn of War games if you think that's the case.
