Would smart pistols' removal increase game's health?

  1. Definitly yes, remove auto-aim.

  2. No, that's not a problem.

Because that's the thing! You are actually skilled and you can AIM! You have a decent computer with correct FPSs and you are able to score hits. My question is: in a game that is supposed to be representing a galaxy where the survival of the fittest is the only rule, do we give an option for zombies to get easy kills?
  2. Smart pistols....need to go....out of the game.

Let's see, it guarantees accuracy vs dick classes like Swooping Hawk, in exchange for 10 damage...

Naw that's fine. If I wanted a damage pistol I'd take plasma anyway. I want the insurance.
  4. You are not supposed to have insurance in each and every case.

For toting the image of best primarch you sure don't embody his values.

  6. Do not mix Dorn with meta and balance please.

If you cannot aim it's your problem, do not give to noobs the capacity to instantly take down target without the need to aim. SH trajectory is linear as they cannot turn swiftly, just look up. Too many people seems to forgot that their mouse move on 2 axis.
  8. Was under the impression you could aim when you want by shift or ctrl clicking with the pistols? Did it a few times in alpha. Not sure if it's still in though.

People do need to know how to aim rather than relying on an auto-aim, but the auto-aim was designed for melee classes in mind rather than gunners. All the smart pistol does for me (and what it was likely intended to do) is it allows me to use my pistol more adequately against other melee specialists in fast paced CC scenarios.

Unlike regular shootouts, it can be a great challenge to keep your crosshairs in range of a jumping/dodging/diving enemy. I'm not saying it's impossible but it can frustrate the living hell out of some players (Like the older swooping hawks...) who are not used to such erratic movements in a shooter. It's not 100% accurate especially when your dueling vs another melee class. It is mainly accurate against gunners who don't freaking move more than 2-3 ft while shooting back. In many cases I've been able to outrun smart pistol shots by circling around the gunner.

In most cases if a melee guy got in range to adequately fire a pistol (or otherwise melee you), you're usually the one at fault for letting him get that close in the first place. You would think that a melee guy should just melee strike you instead of being able to just perfect headshot you down except there is one problem: Melee sucks in doing more damage per second in comparison to just about all Ranged weaponry.

Really the only reason pistols are downing people so badly is because TTK is so low so the loss of damage really means jack crap. Forget the aiming problems people have, pistols hurt like hell period. Why would I bother to use a damn melee weapon and put myself in someone else's (friend or foes) line of fire when I can down them from afar in a faster and safer manner?

I'm guilty of using a plasma pistol to down more people as a GA. Main reason being not only can I kill people faster, I can kill far more people in a shorter amount of time in comparison to me walking around a swinging a big melee weapon. No joke I usually only strike with my chainsword once before going pistol. 1 Strong attack in the rear, 1-2 plasma pistol shots, downed enemy. After that shoot next guy until he takes cover to heal (or reload), run around said cover and shoot him down. In the end 60-75% of all my kills as a GA are gotten with a pistol.
  10. The whole point of ranged weapons in a PvP environment is that you can miss rather than you should hit.

    I voted for remove.
