How about if SM Storm Shields(or whatever they're called) and Stalker Bolters got moved up to Elite equipment? ...I mean, SS on a normal Tac / ground Assault is...ridiculous. Plus I don't think lore allows it too. Almost any time you see a person with a SS it's either a named unit or a Vanguard Veteran(look, an Elite unit!). The same applies to Stalker and Sternguards. I literally have next to no idea why they're available as they are. It makes fighting SMs EXTREMELY unfun.
1) Throw a grenade to the Storm Shield feet. 2) Shot to the grenade. 3) Kaboom! Alternatives: a) Use a melta weapon. b) Use a flying guy to shoot them. Shields are OK, imo. They have hard counters and the users sacrifice their range weapons.
I 2nd this. Shieldbros are reaaaaly slow while they guard themselves with the shield. Time enough for a Melta or Psychic Power to pick them apart. LSM got other areas where they really could use balancing *cough* stalker *cough* servoskull *cough* 25 armor more for no reason *cough* But shields, at least for me, are fine
You're new OP, so let me tell you right now this game threw lore accuracy out the window a LOOOONG time ago. Arkhona exists in its own little space-time bubble where there are some things that look like they might be from Warhammer 40k. Beyond that, lore is non-applicable.
They were balanced once but they got changed or nerfed for some reason (didnt pay attention to them back then) until recently they got a knee jerk reaction of lets make it useful and they ended up over buffing it. It needs to be nerfed but not to uselessness. All i needs is for its damage to be reduced and its rof to be a bit increased.
You don't shield if you see a melta, you balls out and ROLL ROLL ROLL and pray you made it to their face in time. ...I really hate meltas...*sigh*
Mine is when chaos havoks pop out and I throw a nade right behind them and the explosion kil him because few people expect a bundle
