As Eris skids into cover alongside Miria and Arerina to start tending her charges she is met by disappointment realizing there are no other ways of lifting the cargo out with their Servitors dismantled. A bolt sparks just off nearby cover nearly taking her head off, the Medic had been spotted and that painted a big fat target on their entire position. An Astartes prepared to lob a frag into the heart of their position but the attached arm flopped to the ground with a clatter, Addec having thrown himself into the fray like a mad man. Normally engaging a squad of Astartes alone in close combat would be suicidal for a regular human, but here it actually proved a boon as the other Relictors paid the priest no mind thinking their brother, critically wounded he may be, could handle it. This was the marines down fall as the massive Eviscerator swept around and gutted the Space Marine, warrior of retribution earning him a cut across the brow from a hastily brandished combat blade and little else. Arerina chucked a frag grenade into the squads midst but the ensuing spray of shrapnel and minor concussive force didn't even sway the Space Marines, metal fragments meant to tear flesh and puncture clothing or light armor, not ceramite or gene-forged skin. Bolters were raised and quickly began to light up their position looking to take out a Superior, Retributor and Medic all at once, no one coming out of this unscathed.Arerina was thrown on her back by a bolt blowing open her chest, a wound that would be the death of her without immediate attention. Miria had just received a solid shot of pain killers to keep her going when another shot punched out part of her leg and Eris herself felt an intense burning sensation across her face from another near miss, the dim realization that her left ear was missing not quite hitting her for several seconds. Despite a fresh set of wounds Miria at least raised her weapon and fired away, training in on the same target as Emirys scoring them another kill as Seraphim and Superior blew out a knee then rendered another helmet a bowl of gore with a lucky shot through a lens. Alexandra herself was busy trying to plot their escape, noticing only a single exit out the room, natural exit anyways, and it was into the hallway that brought them here. In regards to creating a fire wall, for whatever good it may do, there was some oil leaking free of the flamer turrets that had been above the door. "Sister Superior Miria, we've reports of breached hull near the artifact, can you confirm? What is your status? " It was the Canoness once more speaking directly on a private channel to the squads' commander. Enemies:5 Tacticals @Vulpas @Avenging-Angel @lord-watchman @DaKaptin @Shadhunter @Grall_Stonefist
"We're under heavy fire Canoness!" Miria replied. "We're holding as long as we can but if I was to guess, this force is already at half it's fighting capability." Miria shook her head. Everything seemed to blur, and for a moment, she almost felt drowsy. "We need assistance Canoness..." Miria stated before leaning back into cover and scooting a bit deeper into safety; or what could be considered safer. For a moment... the sound of gunfire began to die down.
Emirys let out a pain-filled cheer as another two Space Marines fell. Spotting Addec among the remaining Astartes the Seraphim aims both bolters at the Space Marines nearest to the preacher, firing volleys of boltshells at the heretics.
Addec was trilled n this moment of combat, he had just acomblished what was possibly his most powerfull kill as of yet, and only a cut on the brow to tell of it, it was also clear to him it was alot because he had been underestimated, their mistake, though he was also very very sure he couldent abuse that moment of surprise much longer. He fired off the exterminator on the evicarator as he attempted to keep up his rampage, they had long distance weapons, if he was luck perhaps they would shoot him and the bolt woud explode after it penetrated in due to it being point black. no matter what there was no turning back now. " I AM THE EMPERORS WRATH" he roared as he kept on swinging.
Alexandra Ducked Behind the Container taking cover to reload her Bolt pistol as Mira Began relaying a message back to the cannones. @DaKaptin "Get Arerina Some medical attention, This one looks worse then mind." She said. She popped out of cover she saw the Leaking promethium From the Turrets she would have to wait until the Astarte came in contact with the oil to do some damage to them or it would be useless, There power armor likely could protect them From the Flame if they were walking through it but if they were in it at the time of igniting it the Flames might jump to them and eat at there corrupted hearts. She had to wait until they were in range she kept her aim and let a prayer out of her mouth to him on Terra that his holy flame would help purge the corrupt and protect the pure.
Hospitaller Eris, "Saint like" Shock was easy enough to recognize. Fist your body freezes, not enough oxygen flowing you see. Things seem to slow down and a lot of the things you hear aren't registering as sound. By instinct, your hands try to find out what your eyes can't. Then you feel the warm blood, see it on your hands. You reach for what's supposed to be there, only to be disappointed again. Pain tries to overwhelm all at once, been there enough times not to faint. If you make it this far you're either running on crippling fear or you've managed to keep going. Eris slapped a dermal pad upon the stub where her ear used to attach nicely to her head. Wrapping what remains of her abbess around it to help keep the blood from flowing. Eris short greying brown hair fell in places from her damaged bun. "There's no time to panic. As long as we draw breath we will uphold our oaths to the God-Emperor. In defense of His realm and for the souls of His people, we give up our lives to His service." Eris says as the pain relieving chemicals started to take effect from the pad. Keeping low, Eris moved to Arerina's side closer to Miria. Applying pressure to Arerina's chest. Using her free hand to first retrieve her field kit and a Melta Bomb. Almost shoving it into Miria's hand, hoping she knew what to do with it. Eris focused on stopping the bleeding, injecting stimulant to keep the critically injured Sister's heart going. "I will not lose another one. Not today! Miria! If that's not the Canoness telling us reinforcements are almost here, then use that Bomb on what those damned heathens covet most!" @Shadhunter "Taking Medical advice from a battle sister, that's so rich I can see an Imperial levy being placed on it. Focus! We can't move the chaos relic, the enemy is closing in and we're too exposed out here. If we cannot move the relic, then we must deny it from the enemy. Once we do, we're going to have angry Traitor Marines with nothing to keep their grenades from flying. Time to start moving. Now that we know who's doing what... GET TO IT!" Eris says in a thickly passive aggressive tone. The stress of a dying sister and blood loss not sitting well with the Hospitaller. OOC: Probably should have asked, can we destroy the relic? I wasn't here for when you got it and am not familiar with it's dark powers.
The sound of the Hospitaller giving orders seemed to get Miria's attention. She latched onto the cover with her one good hand as she struggled to her remaining good leg. She gritted her teeth. "Learn... your place..." She growled. "We were not given permission to destroy the artifact. Only to defend. Addec! Lead them back! To the promethium but be quick about it!" She took in a breath. This was harder than she thought it would've been. "Emirys. Cover Addec and myself. I'll do my best to do the same for you." She stated before getting to her feet, pain rushing through her body. She took bolter in hand and used the cover to help stabilize the weapon as she fired shot after shot into the marines, prioritizing those that took note of her or her sisters.
One of Emirys' bolters twitched, the stream of projectiles issuing from the weapon pounding into any Space Marine even glancing in Miria's direction.
