I suggest that if you somehow leave the open world map that you get flesh-hooked or tyrannids jump on your body and year you apart to your screams.
The whole notion around people needing to commit suicide is dumb really, even in a sacrificial way. We have cultists for that. Honestly not understanding why there should be a Broadway show when you logout, just gives devs time to work over nothing. And when 400 people proceed to log out at the same time and the lag spike from 400 Broadway animations ruins everyones day people will just see how pointless it is. A simple *pop* followed by your man leaving this existence is more than enough imo, i dont recall a FPS/TPS which went about making a drama over your logout (aside from funny comments).
Isnt Planetside 2's "Signing-Off" Animation the exact same as the "Death" animation, could we do that (minus the suicide part) where the person collapses and dies? Im just really against the 'fade out' animation, i dont want this to be like WoW
Hmm i played Planetside i actually never experienced this, how odd. Guess i just thought they got killed by some troll. Well i dunno personally just falling over like you had a heart attack is silly as well. Dont get me wrong popping out of existence isnt the most logic of choices but it worked so far for multiplayer games. Im conflicted on the matter really, as i see nothing wrong with phasing out (perhaps just cause i went numb to the phenomenon as a CS 1.6 and Quake 3 addict).
Ah i see. Well i grew up with games like Halo: Combat Evolved where the sign off animation is the same as the death animation. So when i was older and i played games like WoW where the sign off animation was a 'fade out' animation, i was relatively suprised and kind of disgusted by it. Whatever the devs choose to be the sign off animation as, it better be anything but the dreaded 'fade out' animation
I personally don't believe we should take Halo as the gold standard. And as Djemo said, a Space Marine suddenly going all -HNNNNNNGGGGGG on the battlefield might look just as silly.
