My latest addition, a Thousand Sons sorcerer, made with the chaos space marines kit, enjoy! P.S. : he is standing on a lava river
My SPEHS MAREEN captain which I'm currently selling. After years of being out of the hobby I'm starting afresh, with Dark Angels. This captain was a test mini to see if I liked that scheme before I settled for Dark Angels. Waiting for more of my new units to arrive and when they're painted I'll upload them.
Me? If so do you mean the red armour? The gold/silver? The red armour is really easy as I use an airbrush. Just airbrush the model a dark reddish brown and then highlight the top of the armour with a blood red colour. It's the easiest part of painting it if you have an airbrush. The gold/silver non-metallic is a bit trickier. The blending of the colours is pretty easy but working out what bits should be what colour is hard (you've got to imagine what the gold would look like etc). Still getting the hang of that.
Thanks for that, I only use brushes ^^ nmm is a technique I'll try as soon as I'll have enough paints ^^ I've tried different styles, but I've found my own now, using lots of black wash and Indian ink to have depth and sharp contrasts, I love this somewhat old school/cartoon look feel free to take a look at my other minis, but be kind, I've been painting for only 20 months ^^
You could get the same effect with brushes just by using a pallet, watering down your paints a bit and then blending if from red to dark red/brown, but it would take ages if you're going to paint a whole army like that. If you're serious about the hobby and have a bit of expendable income then an airbrush is definitely a wise investment, would cost you around £60-100 for an entry setup. These are two Rhinos I'm working on at the minute, about 75% done (still need to do the tracks, decals, weathering, mud etc) but having an airbrus makes it so much more smooth and faster to do.
Man, that's looks batshit insane awesome. Would love to see you do some Orks or Salamanders this way. If I can ask for a favor, could you explain like step-by-step how you managed to get to that stage on the Rhino? And if I can ask for even more of a favor, could you do the same with the Space Marine you posted earlier? They look stunning man, keep it up. I also see a knight in the background! Would love to see your army. if you've done them all like that.
