Uh... my gun? What other options do I have? Of course, I think that may be because I can turn at any angle without "resetting" the ready-weapon animation. There have been times where someone rolls behind me, I do a 180 and I just shoot them in the face.
You are factually wrong. I am the one doing the killing with the autocannon. I've pretty much only played heavy classes lately, because that honestly feels like the only ranged option. Anything a TEQ can do, it really feels like a Heavy can do better with only a little bit of brain power applied.
But you wouldn't be able to start shooting your heavy weapon before their stun wears off. The only heavy weapon with a spinoff less than 1 second is the Tempest Launcher.
The change to Kannon was minimal at best and really only served to put it in line with respecting fall off damage on area of effect weapons like every other AoE Heavy weapon already did.
I pretty consistently am able to do it. It may be because I take efforts to immediately increase the distance between us with a jump back and walking backward as I ready, or that the player thinks they can't continue to wail on me and tries something else, but pretty damn often I am able to beat someone in melee who gets the jump on me. 40%-50% I'd say, but that's a rough guess.
We literally just got rid of bad movement mechanics not that long ago! So what you want is a nerf to heavies by just making them way less fun to play?
Heavy weapons don't need a nerf especially when braced. If you can't avoid a static weapon placement that is easy to take out then you are the one with the issue what ever that might be.
So.... you can avoid/take out a HW that's set up half way across the map the covers literally 25% of the map?
That's quite map specific I'm sure. Attacking A-B-C-D points you'll not have that sit and wait opportunity. But yes, I didn't say they don't get a lot of kills via that brace method, I use all the time, it's just that they aren't uber and unkillable. or need a 'nerf'.
