Should all melee weapons be equal?

    You can have all the tactics you want, if you are unable to kill your enemy, you won't win any single battle, except mental one.

    You might want to see Eldar Damage and Health reduced, but if the manoeuvrability DOESN'T allow them to actually bring their opponents down, they won't win anything.

    Imagine the following scenario:
    A banshee comes in your back, unleashes her scream and heavy attack in your back. You lose half your ehp and you turn around and start fighting. Then, given she has lower damage than you and lower health, let's say the fight has been equalized, and really starts. You stall the fight 5sec with your shield. And your armour is back up.
    You are now in a large advantage, even if you were outsmarted.

    That isn't legit. This shouldn't happen.

    I'm sorry but did you just say using your shield to get back your armor and fight to press the advantage is not legit?


    Please hand in your pointy ears. You just said "Fighting using tactics is not legit and should not happen."

    What I said was: A Banshee outmanoeuvered you, outsmarted you, used EVERYTHING SHE GOT, and yet you think the fight SHOULD BE BALANCED FOR YOU?

    I am perfectly fine with using a shield to recover Armour and protect yourself and your friendlies if you managed to see the fight coming to you, took a chunk of damage and come back.... That's legit.

    You literally just were bad and yet the game SHOULD tell you "it's not so bad, mate, here, have a balanced fight that if you stall for long enough you'll get an advantage..." ?

    I'm kind of on the same page as you two. Even as a Tac main, I wouldn't mind melee weapons getting a damage buff, but that's a damage buff, not an impact buff. So, if they hit, they do more damage, but they can't just roflstomp break the knife, they actually have to get through to you.

    That along with a slower "bring up pistol/rifle" time after a Dbash as well as either a quicker "change to knife and pistol" animation (or letting it persist through rolls). Or hell, even just an instant change to knife/pistol when a Tac quick-melee's but then it has a lengthy change back time so that we can't just pull our Bolter mid melee fight.

    Yeap! Definitely. I've been proposing this idea for quite a while, now, if you can recall. But yeah! That would do. (EDIT: idea of performing a melee action for a tact or knife carrying units to auto switch to knife+pistol on melee action)

    I think Impact is fine as of right now.
    But if the Ranged Damage Debuff happens for melee, I'm not sure melee weapons will need this damage buff. Not sure, tho.

    While slightly off subject, I would personally like to see more diversity between all of the factions, give them the real traits of the respected faction, right now lsm and chaos are essentially identical in gameplay except for a class and some weapons, eldar are pesky backstabers and aperently come out of the walls, but are fun to fight and murder >:D then we have the orks well their orks we all know their faction they have fun doing anything.

    As for the melee dmg keep it diffrent it adds the same diversity that I was mentioning

  10. Now we go somewhere, good ideas on the line. I could keep a minor buff to melee damage more 10-15% than 50-70% and a difference between JPA/GA GA debuff their target on range damage, JPA/SS gain damage mitigation against range when hitting (JPA is all jump troops).

    EDIT

    Furthermore I could change HB scream and stop this lightning effect more damageable to the HB than the target and nerf actual debuff and complete by snare (same effect than grav weapon) 25% snare for 3-5s. And maybe for ork melee (like a rank 3/4 perks and night lord JPA or slaneshy melee with higher mark) a roar effect with AOE centered around player accuracy debuff. Thise classes having a minor damage debuff* compared to others.
