Thank God. It was getting annoying watching executions stop at the last millisecond because some chucklefuck threw a grenade too close to me. They were too long before hand.
It was a fun way to waste time after a fight, if you did it before a fight was over you deserved to die. Now it's just a horribly sped up mess. Firing one bolt at a guy that takes 2 seconds after a long fight feels cheap and worthless. It takes more bolt pistol shots not using execute.
I can't stand the new faster executions. Most look terrible. So much potential awesome sauce just gone. What's with BHVR's obsession to make everything so easy? Some of us like challenge and find when everything easy, that can be really cheesy. There's also the fact that the older, longer executions kick the crap out of the new executions. The new executions pale in comparison to the original.
Hopefully they let us slot some execution types, I would risk longer more brutal ones for bonus points also just to enjoy the view.
Eh, they were a tad long before, then again I thought it was a great conselation prize when an enemy gets shot down as he attempts to gloat, always made me laugh and it's one of the occasions I'd forgive a wayward friendly plasma glob murder, and I love gunning down a hapless executioner when he's standing over one of my dudea. It should come with some risk, that was kinda the point, on those rare occasions I died trying to execute an enemy I knew it was my own fault for being careless (and of course sometimes it's worth the risk) But yeah, I'm alright with it having been shortened a little, but it's a bit much. Too quick now to be truly satisfying (or you know, have much of a chance to avenge/rescue your boy)
now execution can be used for their intended role: killing an enemy. because a downed player is not dead until finished. support can revive players fast a walock can revive 3-4 player at the same time: a fast execution with no waste of ammo or slashing 2-3 times
Compare executing someone to the act of actually downing someone in the first place. Downing someone is the act of outplaying them, you had to shoot them to death or beat them in melee. We'll use this as our baseline, and appropriately it's worth 100 XP Old executions, because they left you vulnerable for SO LONG, were dangerous. They were worth 100 XP solely because of that danger New executions, because they're far less dangerous, should not be worth as much XP
