How much Shock Value belongs in EC?

  1. None! Toes shall scamper if any blood marks the screen, downgrade to T!

  2. M rated to the tune of Space Marine or Dawn of War. "Comfortable" brutality.

  3. Marginally more brutality than Space Marine - more emphasis on sound effects.

  4. Moderately more brutality than Space Marine - even more emphasis on sound and visual effects.

  5. Massively more brutality than Space Marine - basically mortal combat scenes.

  6. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD - Slaughter of all innocence. Scenes directly out of nightmare. (or Other)

  1. OMG that gave me an idea lol, they need to make the slider a little demo of how gory they have it so on all the way looks like its dripping blood and got guts on it then medium just some blood etc.

I enjoy some good deaths. However, I have a huge turn off is that gore is taken too far.

I'm okay with face smashing and cutting Ork scum in half. However, I am uncomfortable with things that go into really horrific detail or things that I am just not comfortable with. Eyes being gouged out is a huge turn off for me toward a game, which is why I stopped playing Dead Space 2. Loved the game, but those death scenes involving eyeballs were far too much for me. I almost puked.

Just stay away from the eyes and I have no problem otherwise. I don't like over-dramatic effects though. I want the gore to be good but not excessive to unrealistic or simply over exaggerated values.

Chaos would definitely have some gruesome deaths in mind, but like I said, stay away from eyeballs.:eek:

Shouldn't the kid play Teletubbies instead?

Plus, I think Teletubbies create more nightmare fuel than EC xD

  4. Well that's a real shame because for the nurgal sorc I thought it would breath on the victim and melt there face sigh :-(

Ork ones should be like a angry gorilla that you stole bananas from.
Eldar should be swift and artistic
Space Marines should be you totally deserved this cold anger
Chaos Marines should be psycopath rampage.

  6. To me, blood and gore isn't what the universe is about, so i don't care much. The blood in Space Marine was fine, but a bit much when talking visibilty - Sometimes, I had problems seeing what was going on!

Also, the brutality should fit the individual faction. Space Marines are knightly and execute enemies with professionalism, Chaos Marines relish in bloodshed and the fear they can induce with their powers (brutality goes here), Orks are brutal but not because they relish in fear - they won't find new, fantastic and gory executions, but simply bash a head in and let that be it, while Eldar are fast, elegant and superior, showing awesome skill and speed.

You're right! Hopefully they will do the factions justice in the executions department.
  8. Truth. I'm generally a fan of the more light-hearted parts of the universe, and I'd love the idea of different forces fighting and the fighting becoming so usual that they don't even care about the war itself, sorta like Gone With The Blaswave, if you know that. What matters to the warriors are their individual rivalries.

So, what I mean is, that I'd actually like something more funny or light, referencing just how much battle these guys have in their life, and how trivial killing is to them. Que in point, a Marine kills an Ork:

    Brutal Version: *SPLAT-WHIIIIIIR-WREEEZ* "DIE, SCUM!"

Funny Version: *SMACK* "Who's "ded 'ard" NOW, you fat, grammatically challenged cucumber?!"

I'd rather have a laugh than be revolted, honestly.

If those Executions EVER exist they need to defiantly be rare as all hell because quite frankly....as hilarious as they would be having everyone say them would be horrible emersion breaking madness unsuitable for the universe.
  10. Yeah, sure xD It's more of a rare thing a character might say in some circumstances, but with a small chance - Mostly I suppose they'd be silent.

Just... Just imagine a Chaos Marine going "I SLAY THOUSANDS OF LOYALIST SCUM, LOYALIST SCUM, LOYALIST SCUM, I SLAY THOUSANDS OF LOYALIST SCUM, HEYOOO! :D

Edit: OR, OR, an Ork getting a killing spree and then triggering a Laugh emote that goes on for over thirty seconds of boisterous bellowsound!
