How much Shock Value belongs in EC?

  1. None! Toes shall scamper if any blood marks the screen, downgrade to T!

  2. M rated to the tune of Space Marine or Dawn of War. "Comfortable" brutality.

  3. Marginally more brutality than Space Marine - more emphasis on sound effects.

  4. Moderately more brutality than Space Marine - even more emphasis on sound and visual effects.

  5. Massively more brutality than Space Marine - basically mortal combat scenes.

  6. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD - Slaughter of all innocence. Scenes directly out of nightmare. (or Other)

Warhammer needs gore and a lot of the time I feel like it needs to shock people who either aren't used to it or don't know much about how we grimdark in this universe. I mean we're talking about a universe in which millions of humans die daily in just one battle and giant war engines walk over their corpse bridges, a universe which has killer death robots who have guns which visually strip a target of their clothes, skin*, muscle and bone (actually now that I think about it some of those death robots wear the skin as clothing.) and a universe in which Gods mess around with the general order of things by horribly mutating people into monsters and getting their followers to rape, pillage and destroy entire planets because it makes them happy. So to summarise I feel that without having at least medium levels of gore the game would be doing the universe a disservice. However I do feel pretty strongly that unless your playing an elder or specific chaos or space marine unit executions shouldn't be really "showy". Basically what I mean is that if you're an ork or space marine in the middle of a large scale battle you want to quickly finish of an opponent without twirling around or gloating because that impedes your ability to get to the next target and increases the risk of you getting killed so you want to kill someone with classic warhammer brutality but quickly and efficiently.
Well as always that's just my view on the matter sorry for the long read if you actually read all that and feel free to tell me how wrong I am if you have a different opinion. :)

  2. Yeah, more executions would be better than more gory executions.

I believe that they are planning on having an execution per weapon?
  3. i know its slightly off topic but in the defense you used mortal combat o.o, But with this new 40k Bandwagon and now theres a new fps, mobile, and even a MOBA, when will we get a warhammer 40k fighting game
  4. there are also additional executions planed
    with micro transactions for sure

In retrospect I feel as though the "Other" choice should probably have been tied to the first option rather than the last since most people choosing it aren't really explaining their pick of "ultraviolence" or "other" lol.

    Thats a new one. :D

Well you can view the execution time in any Twitch with combat, id say its a few secs.
Regarding the time limit, ive written similarly in Savij's thread back then that gathered executions ideas.

They all need to be of a similar or same time duration, the longer ones will neither be used nor sold in the shop.
They can be fancy all they like, but if its longer that right there will be a dealbreaker for most, so they will have some trouble trying to fit many varied murder types into a similar timeframe.

One might say they could make longer ones "stronger" (like they give a buff or a bigger buff if the regulars are already planned to do so as well) but then shorter time will still prevail popularity wise in such a massive game where every second of standing vulnerable will be punished. Plus id personally dislike them making a system around longer and swifter executions, little balancing nightmare in its own right.

Atm they're around 5 seconds BUT Miguel told us (still looking for the message) that there'd be varying lengths.

Sounds like Executions are more of a factor in the game than a lot of members expect. Just talking about "Rage" generation and abilities derived from wargear intrigues me.

Anyway, don't think it needs to be MK levels of brutal or protracted but definitely after that visceral feel. I'd say most of the real nasty deaths from Kingsman: The Secret Service would sate me :D

Personally I can't see the problem with different execution times....

If Executions were all equal and simply a competitive counter then no, the minimal time would be the desired factor.

If you generated twice the Rage or RP/XP/whatever for your Execution taking another 2 seconds then there would be a point to the risk. We'll have to see if and when they explain Rage better in-particular.

I'm only joking :D I can defiantly see the merit of getting extra bonuses from long executions. Personally I'm probably gonna heavily RP at least one chaos champ so I can totally see myself picking the longest most brutal execution for my a khornate beserker. I also think it would be great to damage an enemies morale, they round the corner to find me finishing off an execution laughing maniacally "oh god he's choking him with his own entrails".
