Honestly I would rather just have windriders which only have a Shuriken catapult (pistol with 60 shots?) and have the ability to bike in return, make it so it swaps to that class when you spawn a bike BF1 style with the horses and make them able to cap since they are shitty Avengers.
But aren't Windriders basically Guardian Jetbikes? So it would break the all aspect warrior force Eldar have right now.
I guess, just it would be easier to implement and we know how they don't like animating stuff. plus we were going to leave aspects sooner or later with the soon to be rangers (one day) and wraithguard.
You really think the other factions would accept that? Just saying because they were already crying down like babies because of the WS roadkilling thing so I don't know how they'll react to something probably faster (in-game) and harder to hit than a wave serpent
So again, I think Mount and Blade is a great example of how all bikes should be implemented: Movement: All bikes move faster and hit harder than most other infantry. They can boost like tanks. Eldar Jetbikes are exceptional in the sense that they too will possess the ability to strafe like tanks, and likely will have a faster top speed. All bikes suffer from unit collision. Mounted Armor: Your character is more resilient than on foot. There are two seperate hp bars. One for you, one for your steed. If your steed dies, you are thrown off your bike, itself becoming a flaming wreck. Whereby you can recover as though you fell from a great height. Take lethal damage on your bike and die, the bike triggers and self destructs by smashing into the ground/flips/careens Mad Max style w.e is thematically appropriate. Attacking Ranged are two Twin Linked Shuriken Catapults exactly as they are on the Falcon / WS. There's a thread and questions as to why we can't rotate the guns with the reticle, but the devs misinterpreted as though we wanted camera angles below the tank. No. We just want to fire the damn weapons without having to rotate the entire tank. The same would be true here once they figure it out. This gives Eldar a significant ranged advantage with bikes - these are powerful weapons when we possess the means to aim them. Arcs of Fire It's important to aim, it's also important for all bikes to have a limited cone of fire. Passing by an enemy will require the biker to turn around to engage with its weapons again. No overheat mechanic: Have twin 100 round drums and fire till reload. Sidearms: Can be used to fire at things in a much larger arc around the biker. For Warlocks this includes Psychic Powers... Like Jinx. (and you thought I was joking about powerful weapons...) Melee: Slamming into an enemy with any bike deals damage and will often stagger if not stun an enemy. If it was possible to throw an enemy, this would work too. Slamming/trampling will NEVER outright kill an enemy at full hp. Bikes slow down when they hit a target, and can only melee in two wide arcs around the sides of their bike unless they have a two handed weapon. (this is similar to the Predator which has a blind spot directly in front/rear of its. - especially if you crouch.) You get a melee damage amplifier for how fast you were moving at the point of impact: So if you wizz by and trample someone fleeing, you'll knock them around but won't deal a ton of damage. If you wizz by and slash your sword at their back, and it connects, you'll deal x2 damage. Boost and you'll get upwards of x3 which is enough to obliterate most targets - but rewards skill instead of just trampling everything. Lances/spears get an even larger boost to damage / pen, but must be "saddled" which means the player can only move, and the tip of the spear is the only way to damage someone. But drive it home and you'll unsaddle your enemy THROUGH his mount, killing both in a blaze of glory.
The first time you posted mount and blade I just assumed you were emphatically declaring some love of mounted warfare, did not know it was a game. It looks a lot like tt (which I approve of). I think it's going a little too far in specifics for what is a side part of EC, you shouldn't need to be a biker to know what a bike is doing. I guess the Shing Spears come down to whether bikes are more a special class (like terminators) or a spawned vehicle (like wave serpents). I'm rooting for Ravenwing bikers, so I guess Shining Spears go with that? Class it is, maybe some generic bike spawns for the footsloggers.
Well, other classes can use bikes. But Shining Spears would enhance the bike in a way other classes couldn't.
